  1. Edge has stated that Bono is quite the guitar collector. As one can see on the DVDs, he has built an eclectic collection of
    (predominantly) vintage Gibsons and Gretsches. A shame that they were destroyed by the flood in Dublin in 2002. Gretsch also produces his signature model, the Irish Falcon.

    Which guitar do you think is his best? I would say either his red Gibson Es175, the green Gretsch country Club or the red Gretsch Chet Atkins Coutnry Gentleman Special.

    The other sight listed by someone else had some information. And in fact, the guy lifted some of it from me. But that is fine, I suppose. It's the internet and public sharing of info and all.

    I like the black Gibson Elevis Presley Dove's for acoustic and for his electrics... I'd have to say his black Gibson Les Paul Custom. It can be seen in a few Zooropa era studio pictures and some of the early PopMart shows. (check out Last Night On Earth, from PopMart Las Vegas) on YouTube.

    Bono used it a lot during Zoo TV, dont think it made a whole lotta appearences on Popmart (he had 2 other ES175 models), and I think it made a couple of appearences on ATYCLB Promo Tour + Elevation.

    He uses it on Sydney DVD for The Fly, One, Unchained Melody, Angel of Harlem, Stay, Dirty Day

  11. YOU NEVER SAW THE "I FEEL GOOD GUITAR"? If' you've seen ZOOTV SYdney or any ZOOTV footage, you've certainly seen the "I Feel Good" guitar, as it were.

    Referred to by fans as such because the black finish Gibson ES-175 has a sticker on the unde-side that says "I Feel Good".

    Bono used this guitar often during the 1992-1993 ZOO tours. It also came out for Elevation shows, post Oakland.

    Why post-Oakland? Because Bono slammed his red sparkle ES-175 against the drum riser in Oakland, leaving a gaping hole just behind the bridge - after it was continually malfunctioning - during I Will Follow.

    If you listen to the bootleg of the 2nd Oakland show, Bono apologizes for his anger.
