Another awesome Irishman who I have discovered recently. Very under rated by the general public but hugely respected by alot of high profile guitarists. He is definitely up there with the best. Our Edge is a big fan. Just ignore the U2 haters in the comments. What do they know.
For anyone in Ireland: Rory Gallagher Ghost Blues with contributions from a number of guitarists, including The Edge, is on TG4 at 9.30 tonight. By all accounts The Edge's trip to Macroom to see Rory in 1978 is instrumental to the U2 story. Great show, worth a watch.
