    Lyrics:

    Soldier soldier
    We signed our lives away
    Complete surrender
    The only weapon we know
    Soldier soldier
We knew the world would never be the same
Soldier this is where you can reach me now

We come from an ancient place
    Beyond what we can see
We've come to colonise your night
    And steal your poetry

Old man knows that I never listen
So how could I have something to say
Old man knows how to cheat ambition
You don't lose if you don't play

    1, 2, 3, 4, was enough

    Soldier soldier
    We signed our lives away
    Complete surrender
    The only weapon we know
    Soldier soldier
We knew the world would never be the same
Soldier this is where you can reach me now

    On a double decker bus
    Into College Square
If you won't let us in your world
    Your world just isn't there

Old men says that we never listen
We shout about what we don't know
We're taking the path of most resistance
The only way for us to go

    hup, 2, 3, 4, was enough

    Soldier soldier
    We signed our lives away
    Complete surrender
    The only weapon we know
    Soldier soldier
We knew the world would never be the same
Soldier this is where you can reach me now

    This is the site
    This is the reason
This is where you can reach me now
    This is the time
    This is the number
This is where you can reach me now

  2. This may be U2's new political anthem. It just feels like it.
  3. For Joe Strummer

    Fantastic track!
  4. What a song!
  5. Yes this definitely feels like the political/war song on this album, especially lyric wise with the 'soldier soldier'. It's very catchy.
  6. The starting music guys, it's an another U2 song but I can't come up which one.
After the drums, I thinks it a Passengers song but can't put my finger on it.
  7. One of the highlights of the album - and it is a good album
  8. Still great! I don't like the "low-key" verses much, but they contrast nicely against the uptempo, "up-key" chorus and intro. A final sung chorus after the "This is the time, this is the..." part instead of the instrumental ending and it woul dbe purrrrrfect.

AMAZING lyrics, Mr. Hewson. Joe Strummer would be proud I feel.

Slug from Passengers. Good catch! I knew I recognized it too, went back after seeing your comment and instantly placed it.
  10. Well played you both
  11. The guitar intro reminds me of The Stones' "Gimme Shelter."
