1. The Sydney Morning Herald has a review of last night's show in Auckland and includes a brief interview done just after the sound check, providing this interesting insight to EBW:

"That song began in Sydney," he said. "We recorded some of it there, but then it went down the drain for seven years, up the arse, as these things do"

He surely doesn't remember that they played it a couple of times in 2010
  3. He could have meant the 2006 Vertigo tour. Seven years plus Vertigo would equal to 2013. Pretty good timing. But Bono is better at the words than the numbers.

He surely meant Sydney 2006 and we already knew EBW was born during or right after the Dismantle sessions, but they played it in 2010 so the song wasn't shelved for "7 years up their arses" or anything like that

It was up in their arses for 4 years, then played in 2010 and after that arsed for another 3-4 years. And when they put out final album version, next year they sticked it up in our arses in more stripped down than in 2010. That's the arsed story of EBW...
  6. Don't even talk to me about Mercy!
  7. Who would have thought it comes back in 2019.

  9. Never saw the proshot version of this performance before

  10. One of my favorite songs . And I think it is very underrated...
  11. The piano version is definitely a U2 classic
