As I listen to LT more than TTYW, but since you all like TTYW so much i shall listen to it again today and redetermine whether i like it or not.

And all of the varying opinions are why the reissues and/or the iTunes Complete U2 set are great things to have - Because those plus a CD burning or iPod that you can setup a playlist = hearing what songs, what versions of the songs, in what order that you like best.

I never really listen to The Joshua Tree as released. I listen to the "restored" version with the B-sides, per the Tiede.com site.

I never listen to ATYCLB as it was released. I listened to the mix I made with the single mix of Walk On, Biffco mix of Elevation etc...

Same for POP... my burned discs has the single version of IGWSHA, Please, Discotheque and WITH Holy Joe (like the Japan version).

    Technology rocks like that.
  2. Could you upload them somewhere? I haven't head the single mix of IGWSHA, and I like the album version. Is the Elevation Biffco mix the same as the tomb raider mix? I can't stand the album version of Elevation.

Single verisons of If God Will Send..., Please and Last Night On Earth are better.

The Biffco Mix of Elevation is different than the tomb raider mix. I like the biffco mix best of all of the Elevation versions.

As for uploading, they are official material, which we don't post here - to my understanding.

One. How you can like 4th of July better than Bad, I don't know.

  5. Seriously, you don't like One? What don't you like? the lyrics, vocals, guitar?
And I don't like the 4th of July better than Bad.

I find One hard to like. It plays out to easily and is ball numbing live.

That's a good question. The lyrics seem selfish (one, but not the same), plus there's no enthusiasm to it - songs like Even Better Than The Real Thing, Trip Through Your Wires etc do - One is right up there with Fire and Red Light for me, and how it gets voted as the best lyric of all time I'll never know.

  8. On a boot it's tedious, but honestly something happens when you're watching them play it live. It's been one of my highlights on all three Brisbane shows dating back to Zoo!

I didn't get to see Zoo Adelaide unfortunately because I was only a little kid, at the time in 1993. I can't stand a song that seems selfish, lyrically. Musically and vocally it's great.
  10. One is far overrated. It's a great song, I like it but it's not their best song (imo) as many people will say. I hated the song quite a while until I saw it on the Slane DVD and U2 3D. Edge's solo is great.

i don't understand the selfish bit, what's selfish about One?

  12. We're one but not the same. That one line ruins it for me.
