1. You know I've heard tons in this forum about Bono, Edge and Larry. How come Adam's never talked about? Isn't HE anyone's favorite member? He's the only guy that hasn't been singled out in an avatar (that I've seen). Hell even Bono's hair is more widely discussed then Adam! Surely, the man who invented the thumping basslines of songs such as I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Mysterious Ways, Zoo Station, Discotheque, Elevation, A Man and a Woman, etc etc deserves more than that.

So let's hear it. Praise for the humbly quiet, bassist and only non-smoking/non-christian member of the band. Who's got some?
  2. Hmmmm good topic. I'll go first.

Love the stance and posture when playing live. He's always got a big infectious smile and just so cool the way he handles him smoothly live.

As for the music, what can I say? Thumping, rythmic, crass, simple, melodic, gentle... the man is truly in a league on his own. Plus the stories behind his behaviour. Screening Bono during an assassination attempt. Lying to the band about being able to play bass. Buying a bass thinking it was a 4 string guitar. Plus he is the only member of the band, maybe in rock history, who's early days' hairstyle rivals and competes with Bono's for worst hair do ever.

    Props, man. Props
  3. he has a nice timbre...i like his equipment and his playing...specially the old fenders.

SO TRUE! Without Adam there wouldnt be U2.. some of there songs wouldnt be so awesome with out his musical genious especially New Years Day i love that bass line its absolutely amazing! Adam is just so exciting to watch live like most of you have said he's always smiling and looks like he;s enjoying it! Especially in the Rattle and Hum clips in some of the shows he looks like he's having the best time.. Also he was the rebel of the group you have to have one of them..
    Hats off to Adam!
  9. One of the best songs in the history of music wouln't be anything without Adam... Of course I mean With Or Without You, this is probably the best bass line ever...

About Adam... He's not my favourite member of course, but I love his quietful attitude, his smiles, etc.. And he's a rebel guy!! And I Love it!!
  10. Adam is the 'backgroud-man'. I don't think he's a person who loves the spotlights, like Bono, but still he is quite a rebel! He's genius!
  11. Adam. The quiet power in U2. Imagine the songs New Year's Day, Elevation, Where The Streets Have No Name, and Lemon without his basslines. He's the coolest man alive. For example in the Behind The Song: Where The Streets Have No Name video on YouTube.

  12. I think every single member of U2 has the same importance of the others. Everyone contributes in his way to the life of the band, so that they are ONE but not THE SAME.
The role of Adam is great. He represents the base on which U2 constantly grow up. He is the best reference point, like Bono himself says in U2BYU2. Without Adam the balance of the band would have been unstable.
As a musician I like him even more, because of his constant selfishness and his creativity. Of course he made some of the greatest bass lines in the history of music.

    Hats off!
