At least it's much better than the "Three Sunrises'.

I love the TUF documentary (aka. How We Made Pride...) where Edge is playing the riff to Three Sunrises on the acoustic and you have Danny Lanois et al doing some sort of Macarena dance

And just for reference, the version of ASOH from Wide Awake isn't live, it's just got crowd noise mixed in so TECHNICALLY I guess there's grounds to call it a studio version...but yeah it's a great version for sure. I like both TUF and WAIA versions of ASOH, personally.

It was a soundcheck with mixed audience indeed

  3. Couldn't disagree more, with all due respect. It's probably my favorite U2 song, I've heard many of the live performances of it, and the album version is still my favorite.

Incidentally, of the live versions that I've heard so far, my favorite is from 10/30/84 in Rotterdam. There are technical problems during the song, which actually add to the performance, and Bono is very strong / into it.

I was gonna mention that too....
  5. Well, Wide Awake in America doesn't have much to do with performances in America, does it?
  6. A underrated classic. If I ever get married, I want the first dance at my wedding to be to it.
  7. One of the most underrated songs of all-time. Album version is nice but live version (Wide Awake In America) just blows it away. What an explosion, what a voice. Easily one of the best live performances of the 80's.

Probably it will re-appear acoustic? Would be awesome.

EDIT: Didn't know about the WAIA version not to be live. Still it rocks.
  8. A great song, i feel like they should play it to open a show in Dublin....i would love to see the crowd reaction
  9. Love the album version already but the one on that EP is absoluteley amazing. I think it will definiteley be played on this tour
  10. love both versions!

the TUF version is so great imo.
  11. Love the song . Heard them play it live at slane . No one was expecting it so for me it was incredible even though they made a bit of an arse of it . I just remember being the only person within 50 yards of me who knew What it was from the very first notes or who knew the words so i sang like f**k . Was a great moment for me which i had forgotten about til now . Thanks .
