1. Thats alright young man thats alright......your mighty young to be writing such heavy lyrics
  2. Great lyrics if you ask me...especially at that age

I also tried to write lyrics and this was the first one I've recently finished:

    Monday morning
    Nineteen years of dawning
    I say how long
    I say how long

    It was one dull morning
    Woke the world with bawling
I was so sad / So sad
    They were so glad

I was of a feeling it was out of control
I had the opinion it was out of control

    Boys and girls
    Go to school and those
    Remain children
    But not this one

I was of a feeling it was out of control
I had the opinion it was out of control

I was of a feeling it was out of control
I had the opinion it was out of control

    (You take my heart away)

    Out of control
    Out of control
    Out of control
    Out of control

    Out of control

    I fought fate
There's blood on the garden gate
    The man said childhood
    It's in his childhood

    One day I'll die
The choice will not be mine
    Will it be too late
    You can't fight fate

I was of a feeling it was out of control
I had the opinion it was out of control

I think it sounds like some kind of U2-song...

But anyway, on a serious note: I sometimes have some lines in my head, but I never write them down. Maybe if I start playing guitar (which I will be soon)

  3. Haha. As long as Edge can play the chords. I'm no good at those.

Rubbish. You'll never go anywhere with it.

Thanks for the compliements though, guys! They really are much appreciated.
  5. I haven't done a lot of writing since... August? Sounds about right. Tonight, I broke the dry spell. I only wrote down titles, ones that I would like to use and others that are "maybes." I also wrote a small synth thing, it would be a great track to open a show as the band and I walk on stage.

My favorites from tonight include; "NGC 4945," "Universe Surrounded By White Walls" and "Clock Controller." A few other song titles I like from before this session are "God's Hiatus," "Life Sized Action Man" and "Cowboy Thing."

"NGC 4945" is going to be a Symphony that I cannot wait to complete! I was supposed to "officially" start it this evening, but a much needed chat with my best friend got in the way. I have several ideas lined up for it. "God's Hiatus" is the most complete song that the band and I have. I want to re-write the lyrics however... are you really still reading this?

Some of my ideas can be found on my YouTube page, if anyone is interested.

By the way, the band is called "Impetus."

"God's Hiatus" is one of those song titles on an album that I would have to check out FIRST, and THEN listen to the album as a whole. Wayyyy too appealing to wait any longer than I had to for.

Yeah, "God's Hiatus" is our most appealing song. The chorus is radio friendly too, "It doesn't matter what they think of me, not hearing a word, not thinking a thing..." I'm glad that you like the title, thanks!

Edit: the version on my YouTube page is actually really bad, compared to what it really is now, with the entire band, and entire gear rig changes.
  8. I've written loads of songs, most of them during my days as a student, in the middle of the night and when I wasn't that sober. Most lyrics simply dissapeared over the years, but that's no shame. None of them were really good. I was simply trying too hard to write a good lyric and mostly it ended up being way too dramatic, too political or whatever. Always too much of everything. And all songs were always based on songs I know from U2 or G 'n R or whomever I was listening to at that point.
  9. I'm at the uni so I can't download your song now, Matt, but I really want to hear it. This evening when I get home I will download and give you my opinion
  10. it would be cool if we made a song on here, like everyone records a little part, then someone mixes it together

  11. "We are the U2Start...
We are the children...and adults...and teenagers...
    "
