1. ok i listened to a couple boots, both wembleys and a few others...

is it just me or is it when U2 perform sunday bloody sunday, the base drum volume is turned right up to give a really heavy beat! sounds brilliant i love it, anyone else noticed?
  2. I think U2 have always done that. Listen to Live from Paris, Slane, Live from Chicago... The bass drum is quite loud.
  3. epic huh.
  4. i never really noticed on other dvds to be honest, just on these boots especially compared to boots iv heard from the vertigo tour etc, the base drum is exceptionally loud!

the only thing i can compare it to is Live Aid, base drum is immense on there
  5. get the DC 92 soundboard. Best drumming bootleg ever

  6. +1

Also, if you're looking for more prominent-Larry shows, the rhythm section is incredibly tight and audible on 2006-11-11: Sydney...The Edge is very distant in that one, which makes Adam and Larry's parts really stand out.

  9. Tim Neufeld (atu2 writer, post-show Periscope chat host) recently delivered a talk covering a number of ideas surrounding U2, including an analysis of how Sunday Bloody Sunday has developed over the years from 1983, right through to today. I found it interesting, so I'll share it here. The Sunday Bloody Sunday talk starts at 21:40.

  10. thank you tim this was quite moving
  11. Lovely! I'll get around to watching this one
  12. I was listening to a self-made compilaton of the I&E Tour so far the other day and I was thinking that it's a shame this new SBS version hasn't grown on me. Then I started wondering how would it have sounded if the band had taken the acoustic approach that they tried back in 2009 and then remembered that they already teased us all in 2013, from the rooftop of the Electric Lady studios. Remember?
