1. So, anyone got their hands on new Arcade Fire album?

Still getting to know it but it seems that they got it right again
  2. Meant to check Neon Bible out, another one to add to the list I suppose you'd recommend it then?
  3. Doesn't come out Stateside til August 3rd but I'll pick it up on release date.
  4. I've heard two of the singles (Month Of May and another one which I don't know the name of) and I pretty much like them...

Another good album for a mediocre year it seems

The Suburbs is the other one. Good songs, different sounding from the other albums.

    The Black Keys- Brothers
    LCD Soundsystem- This is Happening
    Spoon- Transference
    The National- High Violet

These were all fantastic releases this year

I look forward to this one (Arcade Fire, I mean) It's funny, I never like their albums the first time I listen to them, but the more I play them, the more I come to love them. I know I probably won't think The Suburbs is amazing when I listen to it, but that won't stop it from getting constant play when this comes out. I trust this band more than almost any other band right now.
  7. Loved Funeral, Neon Bible wasn't as great for me....it'll be interesting to see where this one falls in.

High Violet is perfect album, just perfect! They're my favorite band after U2. Gonna see them twice this year, in Wien and in Zagreb.
  9. I only know The National from that list
  10. ive given this a couple of listens and its amaizing!!! really growing on me like much of their music does!! a couple of songs sound like they would've been fitting on The Unforgettable Fire...love their sound!!
  11. Ok, this is their best album by far and a definite contender for album of the year.

Stealing Markus Dravs from CP really paid off, it has the same lushness of production that made VLV spectacular.

16 songs is a lot, the album almosts seems too long, but the quality of material is stunning, very very interesting musically - they have a completely unique sound. I think the level of polish over their earlier albums is what makes it great, very few songs have annoying sections unlike much of their earlier work.

I don't think The Suburbs is a great track, it's ok but is rather long and a bit repetitive, like the piano though. Suburban War is probably my favourite so far.

I love the sheer energy that is Empty Room, it's like Being Born on steroids.

Sprawl 2 is also brilliant, 80s disco influences in there with a fantastically subtle chorus melody that takes some time to resolve.

Then there's Half Light1, Ready to Start, We Used to Wait etc. Coldplay and U2 are going to have their work cut out trying to top this musically (not lyrically)
