1. january 10, 1990 , final Lovetown show. Not the best quality, but one of the best shows.
  2. I was at the show from Brussel 08-07-1987. It was a really amazing show. Even the bootleg is top.Running to stand still perfromance was the best I ever saw.

I listened yesterday to SN's version while I was posting that, and it sounds better than yours, or at least it sounds better to my ears. Your recordings are awesome but are not (always) the greatest out there.

  4. No! Sarajevo is the most overrated U2 show of all time. Any show where Bono loses his voice so badly that he needs the Edge to sing some songs is not a quality show.
  5. Some great U2 shows include Los Angeles 1987-11-18 and Santiago 1998-02-11.

(I hope I got those dates right )

It's an amazing show (and bootleg) whether you like it or not. A show where Bono loses his voice AND he requests the audience and the band to carry on and help him is amazing. Moreover, if it's the first rock concert in a war devastated country for almost 6 years, then the emotions and the strong community feeling get over everything else and the show is lifted to the catergory of "legendary".
  7. Sarajevo is a milestone in U2 history (and not only) .. despite of Bono's voice, band performance and whatever.
    it went beyond music

there's an italian book "U2 a Sarajevo" that explains very well how they went there (since Zootv), the pre and post show, the atmosphere the reactions and so on.
it's a very good book but i don't know if it has been translated in some other language

End that's why people like this show. They don't like this show for the music, they like the show because of the fantastic audience and that these people were able to see a concert. It is almost a miracle that this concert was able to be held, but that doesn't make it a legendary show. It makes it an interesting and important historical event. A legendary show is something that's amazing for the music, not the other things. The Point Depot shows are legendary not Sarajevo.

I don't see you guys saying that the show where Adam couldn't make it was legendary because the band decided to not cancel the show. (But soon you will all be saying that the Torino show last year was legendary and only because Bono was able to perform after only 3 months since his injury, if you haven't already.)

A show that takes place without a band member IS legendary.

Again, people like the show not for the music and this post proofs it. Just because it was truly amazing that they were able to play a concert there, that doesn't mean that it's one of the best bootlegs ever. That's ridiculous. A bootleg that is "best ever" is something that's truly amazing for the music.
