    Comments:
In a time where everybody loves U2 playing on a big festival we look back on one of their very best festival performances. Back in 1983 in Devore. A great festival performance with some great snippets and general performances. A must-have and not only that, but more a must-hear.

  2. This show is great, I'd really recommend the pro-shot DVD though! Maybe it should be uploaded here now that this is show of the month?
  3. Feel free to do that, Olof

Great, great show. One of their best pre-TUF shows. Killer versions of A Day Without Me (best ever if you ask me), Two Hearts BAO, Electric Co and the I Will Follow+40 combo is the best way to end a short but intense show I ever heard. VERY recommended, people
  4. Great show. On the boot page I see I'm the only tagged as being there.

Well, what can I say about this show. We went all three days to the US. It was one of the best times of my life. We were so pumped to see our favorite bands at one show, The Clash, Bowie, Oingo Boingo, INXS and of course U2.

You have to remember U2 were not what they are now or even Blood Red Sky big yet. If you listened to KROQ then of course you knew U2 but this was NOT a U2 show or U2 crowd. The was a few weeks before the War shows at the Sports Arena and this was Regan's America.

I remember wearing a War shirt I bought a Tower records to high school and getting hassled about it, almost to a point that it was a fight.

Enough history, U2 kicked butt. We pushed our way to the front of 250,000 people, all I can remember as we did this was how everyone was so wet from sweat and the water cannons, it was kinda gross, we did it. In the end we saw our favorite band at the US Festival.

And in the last act of defiance or what we felt at the time was a big F**k off we stayed in the front until Bowie came on then flipped him off thru his set as we felt the Let's Dance album was utter crap.

Great choice this month for a show that was IMO one fo U2's best.
  5. Great story. Lucky you for being there
  6. Takes me back to the first days of U2..which was War, Under a blood...83,84,,,just heard Glastonbury...last week...a lot of space between the two...Love the creativity for staying within the Rock world..not many bands have that courage to shift there sound..ie....Pop...rap tones...Playboy Mansion...
