1. I apologize if there's already such topic on the forums... but I must say I've been really fascinated by this small song from Zooropa album... it's so cool, the bass and drums are rolling and rolling, creating almost hypnotic atmosphere... the vocals are just perfect, with double-tracking, I especially like the 2nd verse which is nicely divided between high-octave and low-octave Bono... the lyrics may not be deeply meaningful but they really add to the experience. Unfortunately the song was performed live only a few times and Bono usually messed up lyrics there... but notice how great Edge's guitar sounds!!!! Listen to the last performance of this song for example Wembley 21-08-1993. I just love how Edge's guitar starts to build during the 1st verse and then explodes on chorus, adding a perfect crunchy riff. So I want to ask you what you think about this song in general and why it has been so rarely performed live?
  2. I always skip it.

My sister thinks it is 'I'm the Walrus' -ish
  3. That song has been on my mind lately, ironically enough, after listening to the Zooropa shows. There's something about it, like you said. I just thought it was a innocent sounding song about a not so innocent relationship, or maybe I totally missed the point? I don't know, there's one thing I've always tripped over listening to lots of music, it's metaphors, haha.
  4. I like it a lot as well, I rarely stop playing Zooropa after I finish my favorite Zooropa song, the title track itself. Babyface has great lyrics and a great melody, I love to sing along in the car

I always thought of it as a love song to a woman on television...possibly in a porno...where the viewer is able to control and freeze frame her via a remote control...coming from outerspace (via satellite)...but there is something semi dark and sinister about the relationship, but with a pop chime. That bright pop / dark undertone makes for a great song.
  6. For me is the worst of the album
  7. I couldn't agree more. I quite enjoy the song, definitely one of U2's sexiest.
  8. Something about it so relaxed, so free, so natural.... this song clearly shows U2 at the peak of experimentalism when they were not afraid to try new things
  9. I've been listening to a remix of the song for the past couple of weeks and it makes me appreciate the song even more. I always liked the song, but the remix puts it in a new perspective. LOVE IT
  10. Which remix is that?
  11. Used to be "our song" between myself and an ex-girlfriend.

But that's not why I love the song!

  12. Babyface (Boy Mix)....downloaded it off some site. it basically loops some sections of the song. Long intro. Its double the length of the studio version
