1. I know there have been millions of topics about this, but what the heck..

I downloaded the excellent audio version of Saitama lately and was astonished by Bono's voice, the overall performance(Beautiful Day, Out of Control, BTBS, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Mysterious Ways, One...I love them all being played like this!) and the setlist, with only 3 Vertigo songs in it (SYCMIOYO, Vertigo en COBL).
So, I know the last leg of the tour was very good with Bono's voice in great shape (at Saitama, listen to Pride and Bad for example), but are there any more shows with an even better performance/great setlist? So I'm not speaking about audio quality, but about real performance.

Wat is actually considered to be the best show of the entire Vertigo-tour?

Well, NEVER only one show is considered the best. Even in the Boy Tour there are many different "Bests".

Nevertheless, many people say that 2005-04-14 and 15 Glendale is one of the best. Also 2005-06-27 Dublin and 06-29th Cardiff are fantastic, both in performance and audience-feeling terms.

We can't forget the New York nights. The band were in a great performance mood that days, specially 2005-10-11. And Los Angeles 2005-11-22 also rocks.

  5. I don't really dare to add to Sergio's posts on bootlegs, but let me say that you should also give Honolulu a try, being the last show it's got some special stuff.
You can get an amateur video as well on Spiral's blog.

I was going to say that, but then... Then I remembered that fantastic 3rd leg shows and I thought that I must stick to 5 shows.

heh...then let's say that I took care of that one for you!

    That's right
  9. No-one will challenge Sergio's knowledge on these things, but I was at the Cardiff show and it was amazing. There's more HTDAAB stuff there than the 5th leg, but the audience rocked. The boot sound quality isn't great but the performance makes up for it.

I think Saitama's best of the 5th leg though.
  10. I love the Cardiff gig. Very good 3 star recording and that fucking crowd!! 2005-05-18 - East Rutherford is a top notch performance and the audio quality would rival any bootleg from the whole tour. The first Saitama show is a better performance that the more well known 3rd show so give that a try to.

Allright..I'm actually ashamed that I downloaded the 5-star audience lately. Should have done that much earlier. Always had that IEM recording, but that sucks.

I'll check out all the posts here, many thanks!

Of course you can challenge me, specially if you WERE at the shows I mention!! Anyway, everybody seems to agree on the Cardiff show, so let's consider it as an Essential.
