What's there to say about the opening night of U2's Innocence and Experience tour? A year ago U2 revolutionised indoor shows with an amazing show. Sweetest Thing was performed for the first time since 2001, Bullet The Blue Sky for the first time since 2006 and Desire is played full band for the first time since 1993. Also, it's the first show where One didn't make it to the setlist. Aside from all the new stuff this was also the show where Edge fell off the stage at the end of the show. An amazing night many fans will never forget, and not just those who were there but also the many thousands listening (and viewing!) along from all over the world. Let's celebrate the Innocence & Experience tour with this great show.

  2. Mofo snippet and Troubles too. Great show, great setlist party! The traffic was unbelievable.
  3. A year. That went quick.
  4. And we thought ISHFWILF was not going to close the show...
  5. Not the trainwreck that opening nights have been in the past, but it wasn't a particularly strong show. That said, the next night was surprisingly good. Most folks I know who were in Vancouver and saw a bunch of a shows ranked Van2 in their top 5.
  6. I should dig up some of my clips. I was recording Edge's headset mic that show for laughs...and you can hear him take a dive at the end of the show.

hahaha that would be incredible to hear. Just out of curiosity: does Edge communicate with Dallas/other staff/the band through his headset, or is it PA-amplified all the time?
  8. Wooow, almost 1 year and I remember like was yesterday!!

many people posting here and we didn't know exactly what songs could be played, everyone excited and the show was great
  9. Goodness! A year already??

I remember hearing this first show of the tour via iHeart Radio (SERIOUSLY! A YEAR FLEW BY ALREADY??). Man, was I following this show like crazy once the broadcast ended. But I've listened to it since and for an opening show, it's super good. I especially love the Spanish chant mess up beginning Vertigo.

Not to mention, I believe this may be the first show of the month from the I+E Tour ever!
  10. Anyone remembers that we had a sweepstakes for this show, to win a shirt of Innocence?
Raise your hand if you contributed to the site crashing during that show!

Ah, I+E. Missing it still. In fact I might start the pre-show a little early.

He does chat through the headset, but I'm pretty sure it still goes over the PA unless it's specifically muted. I know when the piano went down at the 5th LA show, and Edge & techs were working on it on the E-Stage, you can hear Edge & Techs talk through the monitors. Pretty sure that wasn't going over the PA.
