1. Besides that I think Trump is a total idiot and a disgrace to the US, I'm not really interested in hearing Bono making very long speeches etc. again. How they did it during the I+E tour was alright, not make a big fuss about it but still give your opinion during a song if possible.

Agreed with all of this. I'd love for them to keep the criticism of Trump's persona/policies up - but to also hang on to the message of Bono's BTBS "rap" on the I & E Tour..."it's gonna take every woman and man", right? Especially when there's such sharp disagreement and division over this recent election.

Hopeful no matter what the tour looks like that SOE does indeed reflect this current climate, since Edge gave that as an excuse for procrastinating on getting the album out.

It's what they have defended all their career. If someone has a problem with their viewpoints, they can go to a Ted Nugent concert.

Ok. I stand corrected. Neither is Bush mocked saying we will rock you at beginning of AB shows. My point is, despite that, Bono got through to Bush on issues. But Bush is a very different man than Trump. Heck, even Jesse Helms was a very different man. They weren't spiteful. They got humor. They were ok with opinions of others, even at their own expense. I'm not saying U2 should stop what they're doing, I'm just saying it's gonna be hard for him to break through politically with over the top mocking of Trump. And there may be a point where he'll need to compromise and reel it in for the greater cause. I could care less if they do it or not... as long as there are no song length sermons that will shorten the set... He's a smart man. He'll figure out what's best...

we get to carry each other...
  5. This is a very inventive way of ducking their extreme laziness and opulence as a heritage band.
  6. God, how I wish this thread was ON topic.
We would be discussing how great the new SOE album was, instead of talking politics....

Although I'm sort of looking forward to this tour, the fact that SOE doesn't seem to happen anytime soon (might well be 2018, if ever) makes me sad...
  7. Here we go, off topic

No extra shows in rumor land?
  8. The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 hasn't even gone on sale officially and you're asking for more shows? Wow that's some anxiety

    I don't think there's a U2 album devoid of politics.
  10. Yup. Politics and religion. Recurring themes interlaced in every album.
  11. I know.

I just would rather discuss the politics/religion of a new album/ new songs.
Make new songs and let them speak for themselves. That way you don't need additional rants or speeches during a concert.
  12. I'm almost positive that this would have been asked earlier in either this thread or another one but with so much action going on around here (love it!) it'd be too hard to find.

If they announce an Experience Tour in say, September (yes, Sergio I am asking about another tour ), would they give current members new presale codes even though they've (I've) used up their current code on this summer's Joshua Tree tour?
