1. Kinda though that too
  2. Interesting linked page with all of those "completed" albums. You really have to wonder if The Joshua Tree was supposed to be a double album. I have a feeling that's a little BS, I think in U2byU2 they talk about how they had enough for a double album but realized it might be too much. I remember seeing a page a long time ago (it might be the one he's referring to) where a guy talked about completing the Joshua Tree by inserting B-sides here and there, saying that some songs didn't actually make sense without others before or after in the tracklist.

I will say I welcome a Rattle and Hum that's only the studio tracks, because I think all of the live versions on that album are bad (apart from Bullet). Still Haven't Found is cool, but the version in the actual film is way better.

    Late reply...
I made that album and it is pretty good. Sure, it might seem a little "bumpy" if you're used to the original, 11-song version but it felt it was a nice alternative to something I'd been already listening to for so long - now 30 years!

  8. Only 1 thing to listen to today
  9. 30 years ago. Man, I feel old. I remember it like it was yesterday. The days before online presales or amazon. Right about this time my buddy and I decided to take the day off school and headed to our local (mall) record shop and wait for them to open. We were the first to purchase and we bought 1 each of the LP and cassette. That was the beginning... we spent the rest of the day driving all over Ft. Lauderdale listening to the tape. 1 song at a time, with several imperfect rewind attempts to replay or relisten to a certain melody, riff or lyric... then RTST came on. We had to pull to the side of the road for that one. Breathtaking. The Unforgettable Fire and Live Aid had catapulted them to arenas previously, but at this moment I realized (to my simple, twisted and shattered 18 year old ego) that U2 was no longer just "my" band... I had to let go and truly share them with the world. I'd been hanging on to the inevitable for too long and would have to swallow pride and take solace in the fact that "I heard them first. " And the rest is history, folks.

Just had to share as I stroll down memory lane.

    Peace and love!
