1. That guy is really clutching at straws there. Of course there will be similarities to the people who influence them. All art has that problem but to call them ripoffs is really reaching the songs are very different and their own despite the similarities.
  2. tim sommer who?how many grammys does he have?

not to mention, they are the first to tell you what they were listening to and what influenced for this album... and for achtung baby as well now that I think about it..
  4. listening to Deep in the Heart and surprised that no one created a topic of their own to praise it, probably top 3 U2 b-sides. (imo)

  5. Your post may be from 7 years ago, so I won't throw in any SOI/SOE songs as candidates...but Walk To The Water more boring against Race Against Time? I still can't believe they let that one out the door, yet won't release the original Mercy demo
  6. Spanish Eyes is the best B side ever of this era (JT) close the thread
  7. Perhaps the best ever U2 B Side, making 1987 an incredible year for me. As Prince is my favorite, his 2 1987 B Sides for Sign O The Times singles were incredible. Hard to believe 2 of my favorite artists had such a wealth of material that A List songs were throwaway B Sides. U2 couldn't match Prince for quality B Sides, but I could easily argue that U2 had his number in 1987...kinda. Prince deserved the Grammy, but Joshua Tree had all the sales, so that made sense. And Prince's 2 1987 B Sides were great, but U2 had tons of them...but I could also argue that Race Against Time negates the good ones lol.
