    Agreed!

One feat. Mary J. Blidge, The Saints Are Coming feat. Green Day, Windows In The Skies. In my opinion these songs from the 18 Singles era are terrible.

    Also agreed...

  2. oh man, oh man man man

    oh
  3. No such thing as worst song. .. This is U2 after all...but personally annoying stuff like the start/stop type songs... The Miracle of Joey Ramone, Breathe, Magnificent, Beautiful Day. I even used to get fed up during Bullet live but got into it again. As for Numb, Lemon, Pop, AB, 90's era experimental and hard rocking out Discotheque, The Fly, HMTMKMKM Batman, MOFO, etc. love them !

I'm sure there's something interesting about your reasoning but I don't get it. Start-stop type of songs?
  5. Postscript... worst snippet ever... 19 from the last tour... It seemed so token and contrived and I cringed whenever I heard it.

I assume this means songs that utilize hard pauses/moments of silence? Miracle definitely does this and I think it's absolutely brilliant because it adds intensity. I actually think the live version of Miracle is weaker than the album version because Larry does a short drum section during the silence.

    19 is a terrible snippet.

Yeah, I guessed so too due to The Miracle example, but Beautiful Day, Breathe and Magnificent fell out of place there. All of them feature slower bridges (Breathe and Magnificent before their respective solos, and the "see the world in green and blue" part in Beautiful Day) but that is what song bridges are all about

I am happy to promote debate, it's only IMHO !

The bridge part you quote from BD is indeed the really good bit... But I think the energy gets drawn out of the song/crowd by the silliness before it.

Agree your point about studio version being better.

A lot of songs that other people have a problem with I really like such as Walk On, Stuck, Elevation, Boots, Lemon, NOLTH.
  11. The more I read these posts, the more I hope all post 1990s stuff is shelved for the upcoming tour. Heck, they may have to cut all 1990s work too but it'd be a worthy sacrifice.

I wish they went that route, but thinking about it there is no way they shelve Vertigo, One, The Miracle, EBTTRT, Beautiful Day and COBL. I think these are the 6 that will be played as the post-JT greatest hits part of the show. 5-7 pre-JT songs to warm up, then the full album, then these 6 staples post-89. Not liking it and I would prefer an all-80s set too, but I am afraid it won't happen.
