1. In this new series we will be regularly interviewing fans during the tour to ask them about their personal experiences. First to kick off is member jennagirl who attended the GA during U2's opening night in Vancouver.

    "The stage was incredible, breathtaking"

You attended U2's opening night in Vancouver also for I+E tour, different feeling before the show?
I'd say generally the same feeling - maybe for this show more anticipation about hearing the songs that had not been played for years. But overall the same wonderful U2 vibe / anticipation leading up to the first sighting of the band.

What did you think of the band? Who was at his top game and having fun and who wasn't?
I thought the band delivered a great show and were very well prepared. It did seem a wee bit rushed, Bono played it safe with his voice compared to night 2, and some opening night nerves made them a bit tight. Bono seemed to appreciate being back on stage, drinking it all in. Adam was probably the one who seemed to have the most fun, and smiled a lot.

That was the first time we've heard "Red Hill Mining Town" on tour, what were your thoughts when you heard that?
Red Hill Mining Town....so wonderful to hear it live (horns and all!) I did not think too much, just rolled with it, and seeing it live along Exit and In Gods Country was a highlight.

Did you like the stage and how it contributed to the whole show experience?
The stage was incredible, breathtaking and the visuals so evocative of that album's era. They raised the bar higher once again. The visuals added so much to the show, without being a distraction or taking away from the incredible power of the songs.

Were you surprised by the closing song?
I was surprised at them ending with the new song, it seemed a bit abrupt and since the song is so sad, it ended the show on a bit of a down note. But what a beautiful song; i hope it stays in the setlist. Just not to end it.

Do you think U2 can improve their next shows changing for example some songs?
A bit of variation is always welcome, for example adding another song to the end. But the show as it was was incredible and I was completely blown away.

    Thanks jennagirl !
  2. Adam was probably the one who seemed to have the most fun, and smiled a lot.
