And dont forget we may have another tour with new material in 12 months.

Not sure if we will see them tour this much in a 3-4 year period again- so I just want to enjoy every minute

I really think that we will get the experience part of the tour (which will be there last world tour) thoughts guys? One more world tour (I and e) (one last small tour after that and that's it for touring) as much as I want it I don't think U2 will keep touring as long as the stones have at their age.
  2. Hello, I am new here buy have been lurking for awhile. This forum has a lot of great stuff and pretty passionate U2 fans.

I am heading up to Cleveland on July 1 for U2's show at First Energy Stadium and have question that someone may be able to answer for me. Does anyone know what the policy has been for taking a GoPro into these stadiums? It is a video camera, which is frowned upon I suppose, but also can be used as a point and shoot and camera. So, anyone know if it could be confiscated at the gate? Thanks in advance.

Every venue, city and concert is diffferent... But I'd say you will have no problem at all getting your tiny GoPro into the stadium. When/If they frisk you, they'll be looking for huge and/or dangerous stuff such as bottles, big cameras, etc. The GoPro can be hidden (literally) anywhere so it's soooo easy to sneak it in. You can carry a coke can or a bottle of water so it becomes the distraction and the GoPro will slip by unnoticed 100% sure.

    Welcome to the boards btw
  4. Open letter from a U2 fan to the other fans that are organizing the GA lines...

Big hand to the usual suspects running (or should that be "ruining") the GA lines. Way to go, guys. Can't stand the idea of anybody other than your entitled asses getting on the rail so you rig the game every damn show.

And now you're showing up at venues before U2 have even played at the one before?! Give me a break. Just admit that it's all about making sure YOU'RE at the front along with the same crowd every show. You rob people who aren't aware of your little secret club of a chance to get a decent spot because of your "check ins" and numbers on hands while you go some place else.

Sending advance line "runners" two gigs ahead to secure spots for a whole bunch of people is pathetic and you ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

You make the rest of us ashamed to be fans and if the band took a closer look at the underhand bullshit you guys are pulling they'd be fucking embarrassed and bring back the lottery system that's LONG overdue.

Jeff, Nate and all the other line nazis can go eat a large one, we're all sick of you.
    Lots of love,
    Real U2 fans.

I've never been a part of the numbering thing and haven't witnessed it in person but I have to say it does seem a little unfair that you can just go and get a number on your hand without putting the hours into queuing. If you want to guarantee a spot you should have to wait from when it's allowed until gates opening otherwise just turn up when gates open on day of concert. Also is the numbering enforced by stewards or just the fans? If I was in a queue I don't think I'd be having someone jump in front of me because of a number written on there hand.

Been saying this for years. On the Vertigo Tour in Toronto my cousins and I stood outside all day to get a great spot. People came by and starting putting numbers on our hands as this was the line to avoid people butting in. I thought that was a great idea. Until about 20 minutes before the doors opened and then about 15 people arrived and walked to the front of the line. We questioned but they had numbers written on their hands.
  7. They'll get bitten one day. Luckily Dubliners don't queue up otherwise I'd like to see the look on these GA organisers when althey try and tell a bus load of burly lads from Cork that they were in the line from two days ago even though they have been sitting in Stsrbucks all day.

I don't get the appeal but I'm also not affected in any way as I have no intention in spending my time in a new city in a queue.
  8. Yeah. I learned to ignore that bullshit a long time ago.

"Excuse me? Who died and left you line organizer? Oh, will you look at that... I have number 1 also. Hmmm. Should we call venue security to decide for us who is the legit #1?"

Anybody out there still going to a show, don't fall for that BS. You got your spot, stand up for it.

Well said, it's just about standing your ground, these numbering systems are completely unfair by the sounds of it, if you leave the queue you lose your space end of. I'll be turning up after gates opening this time anyway but for anyone else thinking about queuing take Gregs advice and ignore the numbering system.
  10. I dont understand how gang dudes are possible U2 fans and die hard fans enough to sneak in the front of a billion people.

*you lose your space unless you have an "officially assigned number"
