1. Saitama 2006, can't remember the date, but it was with the long toooooooouuuuuuuuch me
  2. Night 1, although all 3 nights have great versions imo
  3. I can’t remember a song growing on me so much in such a short space of time as beautiful Day has pretty much today. It’s been one hard rough week but this song has just went straight to my heart tonight. Just listened to the abbey road version even with the extended intro which I was more opposed to I don’t even care I just really felt the song more than ever.

Wow, it's amazing how this can happen after so many years knowing the song. The power of Music ♥

(I hope things get better soon, sir)
  5. The consolation of music (hope things turn better soon).

Remember beautiful day in Berlin 3? One of the most special performances imo, with Bono picking up where he stopped last time, and the crowd just lifting him up 💜
  6. Thank you Sergio and Maaike. The last couple of days have been a bit better I guess that’s what made the song resonate so much, that overwhelming feeling of happiness which the last couple of days has brought on the back of what had been a complete disaster of a week. And yes I do remember hearing the song at Berlin 3, I really enjoyed it on the E&I tour in general but last night my appreciation just went to a new level. I think it’s going to be a go to song from now on which puts it in the bracket amongst my favourite u2 songs, I feel like I’ll always associate it with this week as well and that makes it mean more to me. Thanks again, onwards and upwards.
  7. This one hit me recently to... I stepped out of class yesterday, walking back to my apartment, the air was cool and the sky was sunny and for some strange reason it just hit me how glad I was to be alive, you know? I hadn't had a hard time leading up to it, I didn't have any particular reason to feel happy, or sad, or anything... but it was a beautiful day, and I realised I was lucky to get to have this moment in it, and I felt this absolute urge to go this song. Which for me naturally meant Saitama 1 - hands down the best version.

    You can tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooouch me
Teach me, I know I'm not a hopeless case
What you don't have, you don't need it now
What you don't know, you can feel it somehow
What you don't have, you don't need it now
    Don't need it now
    It was a beautiful day

I know I'll complain about it being overplayed or the only U2 song lots of people are familiar with or whatever but... man, it is a great tune.

(And Dean, glad things are movin' on up, mate!)
  8. yes, this song can hit you hard sometimes... or probably more often just pass without noticing (I can't remember it on Berlin 3 for example)... this is probably my favourite version of the song, together with the BBC version.
  9. Has to be something from 2000/2001. It never sounded as full bodied after that.
  10. I know this song gets a lot of stick but it's one my all time favourite u2 songs.

Also read something last week saying it was this song that saved U2s reputation, that it potentially saved their careers, especially after the failure of Pop. Stopped them from being an 80s-90s only band.

Also Dean, remember we're here if you wanna chat.
  11. I am a big fan of the Super Bowl version

I had never thought of that but it's certainly this century's One in the sense that it "saved" the band in a sense, became a hit and a trademark U2 song.

And yes, it's been overplayed and boring as fuck in recent tours but there's definitely a great song in these chords and lyrics. It never sounded as good as in 2001, although the Sgt. Pepper's snippet is by far the best one and it didn't happen until 2005... Oh anyway.
