1. Definitely think that SOE will be the end I think the fact that they are touring it straight after TJT is very telling never have they toured 2 different albums back to back like that also the lyrics on Little things are a strong clue of them calling it quits,TBH I really think they should have called time on there career after POP because they've lost that uniqueness that put them up there with Led Zeppelin,Pink Floyd and The Beatles by continuing for so long and putting out average records post 2000 ,I think they should do what REM did and split as friends and without any fuss but with an ego the size of Bono's who crazily thinks they can challenge Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift in the single's charts it might not happen for a while.
  2. I think there's a possibility that it **could** be.

The band are clearly aware it also **could** be. Bono has also confirmed [Dutch Radio interview earlier this month] that SoE has been written from the perspective that it **could** be the bands last album. But as has been pointed out it could well be an artistic marketing ploy - every album needs an angle as far as the press goes.

However, do I think it **will** be their last album?

Do I heck as like!!! (i.e. no chance!)

Bring on SoA, and Man, and anything else that follows! They were born to do this, so as long as there is good health, friendship, muse, and desire, they'll be doing this until the bitter end. I do think the touring side of things may change in times ahead though.

But yeah who knows what's around the corner, I'm sure they don't, but I reckon any future album release *could be* treated like it's their last, both by the band and by us, from here on in. 40+ years, 41 now I guess. It's a crazy and wonderful thing, let's just enjoy and make the most of whatever comes.

great records post 2000 i think! post 2000 they have nothing to prove, as for keeping up with shitty shifty swift.....there's to many teens who would not know ''proper'' music if it slapped them on the face. Garbage catchy tunes seem to appeal to the masses so i just stay well away from the ‘’charts'' it does not reflect good music, just whats popular. as for the band calling it quits, there's a vibe of quitting but it was the same after the 360 tour...here we are, and i think there's no point to split up, they would want to keep together until the bands 50th ann
  4. this whole "is it their last" talk grinds my gears...
  5. I reckon get to 50 years together release Man, short tour then leave.

Yeah I'd say they've still made great records post 2000. There's not really an argument except from a personal point of view that they should have stopped after pop bearing in mind the negative press the album got at the time and the success that followed with ATYCLB and to a lesser extent HTDAAB. You could argue they should have stopped after HTDAAB as even though SOI was great and NLOTH still featured some cracking songs that was the last time they were big for there current work, the album was a big seller, a few singles did well particularly vertigo, 2 songs have became staples in the Setlist, not because of coincidence but because of there wide appeal. NLOTH and SOI just haven't had that appeal for whatever reason. However I'm glad they haven't called it a day and I'll be glad for them to keep making records as long as they can.
  7. Big thing I’m seeing in the difference to 2004 to after 2004 is YouTube/Facebook/internet. It changed a lot. Look at this world we are living in today

Yeah that's it, all personal. Post 2000 are some of my favorite albums they have ever done, some people hate them. Thats the great thing, there's no right or wrong just different opinions

    Exactly right
  10. Millions of pirating albums, not going to lie I do the same thing but still buy all the albums to support the artists
