1. 00:04:00 is a good shot of the old Point Depot. 5000 capacity for each night certainly brought out the more dedicated U2 fans for these Irish shows in December 1989.
  2. at 7.25 you can see the columns from the right of the stage
  3. This tour is just mindblowing.
  4. Rubbish tour since did not really do the UK (now I know what it feels like to be Oz/NZ for the last 7 years !)... Great for for content & memories and the Point shows broadcast !
  5. Listened to Paris 1 today. Too good.

    Bono's voice was so incredible.

  6. Yes, what a show!
The only tour where I bothered to check every single show.
  7. The reason I struggle to rate this tour amongst my favourites is the setlists. Each show is mostly Rattle And Hum heavy which is a good thing in the sense I think a band should always be playing a lot from the new album. At the same time though Rattle and Hum doesn’t rank too highly amongst there albums for me so it’s more a case of a tour for when I’m in a particular mood for it just like some of the songs from R&H I need to be in the mood to listen to them. Performance wise though they’re on top form here and one tree hill popping up quite often is a plus.

I think setlist wise it was also their best tour. You didn't know the opener: it could be Stand By Me, Streets, Bullet, God Part II, Hawkmoon, even have an acoustic In God's Country or Pride!
Then you could have I Will Follow or Gloria or both, UF or One Tree Hill, Bad or AIWIY, close with 40 or Love Rescue Me, have Two Hearts in the encore or 11 O'Clock, have the BB orchestra to play before the encore or after it, you had 2 unreleased songs (Slow Dancing, She's A Mystery To Me) played, for one show the setlist was backwards, and even the unthinkable: drop Streets!
I don't think we will ever have such fun with setlists ever again.

In terms of rotation and variation the setlists are good, it’s just the quality of the songs they are playing that fall below other tours for me. Not the quality of performance but just the songs themselves. I’d generally have to go with the tours supporting albums I favour more strongly. They couldn’t really have done more though with the songs they had to work with at the time.

Yes... but who knew all the setlist that time? People have no chance to know what they played last few shows... So almost nobody knew what to expect...
