  1. But Stay, The Unforgettable Fire, Landlady and Wild Horses were rehearsed in Paris but were not played
  2. I still believe they would have practiced them intensively the night they were to debut them.

  4. Red Flag Day now
  5. I’d love to hear TUF and Stay (I can give or take Landlady) - however, and playing devils advocate here why would you make any changes to the set list of you were them?

Look at it this way - you’re over half way through the tour, you’ve played pretty much the same show 35/36 times, you’ve 24/25 shows to go before an extended break why bother? Surely it’s just more work?

One of their major issues is they can’t just play the (majority) of their songs. They rely so heavily on additional synthesisers, sequencers and other gadgetry and all of these ‘bits’ come from somewhere. Even if they are all available on a MacBook somewhere that they have access to it’s then a case of building all of these into the show which takes time. If they don’t have the bits then that’s a while different ball game - especially if you’re changing an arrangements or the key of a song.

The majority of the songs also have accompanying visuals and lighting effects, these all have to be ‘created’ and programmed too otherwise the show would look out of kilter.

Even adding one or two songs (unless they are basically acoustic) is going to take time and on the road the band and their team don’t have that - like all the tours these guys do the schedule is punishing - they’ve very little time to be working new songs or sections.

The set list as it is certainly isn’t my ‘perfect’ show - however I’m still very much looking forward to seeing the show in Manchester - I’ll keep my fingers crossed for TUF and Stay!

I'd say they will definitely add different songs when they hit the UK & Ireland I remember during the Zooropa tour in 93 they added Babyface, Zooropa and Stay and the I'll advised Sarajevo link up in Wembley stadium even though they sounded a bit raw it was a brace decision to try them out in front of 70k people they always feel the need to pull something different out of the hat when they play to the Brits and to their home crowd.
  8. well I have no idea. But im guessing they'll just keep on rehearsing until they're comfortable enough. Maybe England or Dublin shows? Milan has 4 nights too.
  9. Any streaming for tonight?

'...ill advised Sarajevo link up in Wembley stadium' ...not ill advised, they were bringing the reality of it home every night...it was an uncomfortable watch for sure but they did it because they cared and wanted to make it difference bringing publicity to the plight of the people under siege there.
