Tour: Experience and Innocence tour
Songs played: 25
Audio recordings: 2

  1. Good but lacklustre. Feels like the band is handcuffed
  2. While I’d prefer a more varied set list as a die hard, I get it from their perspective. That said, I still cannot fathom the encore. Throw Bad in there before they get to 13 and I’m convinced it would be epic for the crowd and not ruin whatever narrative they think they are following.

Like the show a lot, but it just misses greatness.

The encore is their biggest success in this tour! What a piece of art!
  4. Sorry but I fail to see how this encore could be less inspiring..... 13 or Love is Bigger should finish the main set then they should cut the narrative crap and play a proper encore and put some effort into it

Absolutely they should do a 3 song random slot near the end they've always said about their live shows is they wanted spontaneity but sadly this tour is lacking in it ,it would be better if they approached it as gig as opposed to a Broadway show where everything is pre planned and coordinated.
  6. Yep this narrative thing has been taken too far and stifled any spontaneity. Also some poor song choices / omissions
  7. But how do the casuals feel about it? I sum up this tour as very enjoyable with a cool vibe. Not their best tour, but not bad either. I KNOW many disagree.
  8. I think say if we hadn't seen them for 5 years or so reviews would be much more positive.
I think a fair few are U2'd out. Not used to this much activity

There’s a few songs that I probably would enjoy more if I hadn’t seen them in a while. Mainly songs that I don’t think are great u2 songs elevation, vertigo, SBS and IWF. I wouldn’t say any of them are poor but not great like Bad, ultraviolet, Streets. The sing along during one also bothers me and pride I’m not overly keen on bono talking during the oh’s but I do think they’re both great songs just not being performed great. Thankfully the rest of it including any of the other repeated songs I’m still really enjoying and excited about seeing. (Actually I forgot to mention the sing along fail that they continue to try and do during RFD, that annoys me too, hopefully by London they stop it and just play the song as normal).

That’s a really good point. When was the last time U2 have been on the promo circuit for new albums/touring for nearly four years out of a five year span? 2016 has been their only real break and even then they did those two shows in autumn, they were clearly anticipating SOE being ready sooner...
