1. That’s tickled me ??
Agree- better than Little Things but One has to be one of the best songs of the 20th Century.
  2. The studio version of One, yes.

I don't care for it live.

EBW I don't care that much for in either case.
  3. Was good in 92/93 just like WOWY was in 87-89.

Just wish we would have had a full band electric version of EBW live. We've always had at least one proper performance of a song they changed for the live shows (except Lights of Home I suppose).
  4. One (Live) > EBW (Studio) > EBW (live piano) > One (studio)

  5. Interesting to see how this song started. I think it might be me, but I kinda hear a bit of Lights of home and Song for someone in here. But I think im just reaching.
  6. Hey, yes! That is interesting. It’s a bit of everything
  7. they had the good start of the song!
they did well to throw the middle and the end
  8. This song was way better in its iteration they played on the 360 tour. Those harmonies in the bridge of that version that ended up turning into Bono "rapping" on the final version...tragic.

Plus I just don't like the chorus they added on the final version, or the arrangement. Ryan Tedder got his hands on it too much and it comes off as a bit of a lame pop song.

It just feels like another overbaked U2 song, especially since the 360 version was so beautifully serene, to me.
  9. Nope, just part of the Edge Orchestra.
  10. I remember quite liking the 360 version EBW when I first heard it but nowadays I find it quite painful at times compared to what they managed to turn it into. The ‘I don’t know if I’m that strong’ bit just seems to completely spoil the flow of the song. By the time it had made its way onto SOI I remember not being too excited about seeing it in the tracklist but then I was very pleasantly surprised by it.

What part do you consider "rapping"?
