1. I saw them so many times when they were the original line up. A real antidote at the time to the Rattle and Hum era. Then they split up just in time for Achtung Baby.
I saw them a few times after that in different incarnations but it just didn't have that old feeling for me.
Seeing as he is only trundling out the old songs year after year I have given them a miss. Still love the music but to travel and see them live just isn't an experience for me. Hopefully we will see something new any decade soon!
  2. I have caught wind that Mr Friday is recording another album. I shall look forward to hearing more about that. It was a real welcome return of the man when he put out the catholic album. Shag Tobacco just has that edge over it though.

Yeah I get you. Tony Pettitt is back on bass though. That is nice to see.

But I wonder if we'll ever going to hear a new album.

Yes. I took my son to see them play Shepherds Bush Empire a few years ago and poor old Tony was having no end of trouble with his bass guitar connections. He was really professional mind you. Just took his time and eventually sorted the problem and they were able to continue.
I love all the work he has done with The Eden House.
  5. I'm loving the new Paul McCartney album. His silly love song type of writing has mellowed like a fine wine over the years. It seems very introspective to me. Maybe because I am not exactly young anymore either. I hear more every time I listen to it. Very well crafted album.

  8. Ha! Good to see this topic revived

I don't have an album of today, but this was mine yesterday

Very good UK repress from the early 80-ies with "fresh" cut laquer at De Lane Lea studios

  9. Rondé - Flourish
