1. THE MIRACLE
    CRYSTAL BALLROOM
    SONG FOR SOMEONE
    CEDARWOOD ROAD
    RAISED BY WOLVES
    SLEEP LIKE BABY TONIGHT
    INVISIBLE
    CALIFORNIA
    EVERY BREAKING WAVE
    RED FLAG DAY
    AMERICAN SOUL
    LANDLADY
    THE BLACKOUT
THE LITTLE THINGS THAT GIVE YOU AWAY
  2. Iris, California, Every Breaking Wave, Crystal Ballroom all are better than anything on SOE.

SOE has some winners but compare song against song and SOI is a better album. And SOE had grown on me in a big way, so right off the bat, I liked SOI better.

agree, and those are also among my favourites on SOI
  4. Both albums are great I see them now as just Part 1 and 2 ,when I first heard SOI it had a far greater impact on me than when I heard SOE which I found to be more laid back and less direct ,however Little things is one of the best songs they've ever done and I found it bizzare that they never played it on the E&I tour it would have been such a great ending to the gigs instead of the snooze fest that was 13 Screw the narrative Let's Rock

I agree to disagree....... Little Things is better than almost 90% of U2's catalogue, let alone SOI.
  6. I think the band liked SOE over SOI - they dropped the SOI songs for AB. That tells you something.
  7. best songs of SOI :

    Every Breaking Wave
    Song for Someone
    Iris (Hold Me Close)
    Raised by Wolves
    The Troubles
    Lucifer's Hands
    The Crystal Ballroom

    Best songs of SOE:

Love Is All We Have Left
    Lights of Home
    Summer of Love
    Red Flag Day
    Landlady
    The Blackout
    13 (There Is a Light)
The Little Things That Give You Away
    Book of Your Heart

    SOE wins !!!
  8. No, it was a tour to promote SOE so its obvious they wont drop those songs
  9. I think the band showed plenty of faith in both albums live. 6 songs from SOI + Invisible were played every night on the I&E tour, that pretty much matches E&I where they played 6 songs from SOE the whole tour and switched between American soul and Summer Of Love from the states to Europe. Love is all we have left was a regular and got dropped although it was only really semi-live anyway. They used Red Flag Day and Landlady in the same way they used volcano, California, the troubles and a few of the bonus tracks on SOI, sparingly.

I agree! They definitely seem to have had more faith in it than No Line!
  11. They definitely didn’t start getting rid of songs towards the end of the tour like they did on Vertigo and 360... some nights had 3 or 4 songs from touring album max.
  12. Enjoy both albums!
