1. Yawn, all these people complaining about SOE not getting nominated...

The songs of SOE are great live but the album is anaemic in places, production wise. Plus The Best Thing is terrible.

Completely disagree. Best Thing is one of their best songs in years.

  3. They would have got a nomination if there was a category for bands that released their worst album yet
  4. Ironic, then, that the band won seven Grammy Awards for their dullest, blandest album back in 2000.

    Kidding...kind of. Haha.
  5. They have had their time at the Grammys and well deserved but I think that time is over now. SOE is fine but not Grammy material.
  6. I just thought of this randomly but if the next album is Songs of Ascent then what a better walk out song for the live shows than The Ascent by Brian Eno? (If they were to work together again)
  7. I'd like to see them do the orchestra tour. Two shots of happy, one shot of sad could be a real centrepiece
  8. to me its very normal SOE dont be nominated... but i love the album anyway
  9. Good idea.

I just realized that because U2 have always released albums in trios the next album would have to be part of the Songs Of trilogy or else they will break the long standing tradition going all the way back to their first 3 albums

    Boy, October, War

    TUF, TJT, R&H

    AB, Zooropa, Pop

    ATYCLB, HTDAAB, NLOTH

Songs of Innocence, Songs Of Experience, Songs of (Ascent)?
  11. Yes that is true, would be nice for us to have the third if the trio albums in the “waiting time”

I agree with the trilogy concept, while I don't think Songs of Ascent is a given, I'm desperately hoping that will be the next record. Hell, if it is as subdued and Sufi inspired as they once said, I wouldn't even care if they didn't tour it. A quiet release would be cool with me. Then, if they feel like touring they could put something out more conducive to a "rock show." I want to hear a proper version of Soon...which I've always heard as a snippet of SOA.
