Even knowing it was coming could not prepare me for how it physically and emotionally felt to witness that song for the first time in 17 years. I feel very lucky to have witnessed many other great songs over the last few years, songs like one tree hill and red Hill Mining Town which I thought I had absolutely zero chance of ever witnessing live and they both mean a lot to me too but Stay will always be that little bit more special.
but what about the weak parts of E&I?? The opening was a bit lame, I will follow was the only song that got the crowd going... and the 2nd part of the show was just average. The Zoo TV sequence was great, I certainly agree with that, but after that the show lost a bit of momentum. I&E was sort of building to a climax and like I said before JT30 was just one big highlight..

I can’t agree with you about the weak points of E&I. To me the only songs of the show I saw that fell below great were elevation and Vertigo, I also would have liked to hear one sang in full by Bono and not the crowd apart from that though I loved the shows I seen. JT did run it close I really did have a great day at Twickenham and from the beginning until the end of TJT set it was amazing but i wasn’t blown away by miss Sarajevo without Bono singing the big vocal parts and again elevation and Vertigo were in there and I didn’t like the arrangement of beautiful Day as much as the version we got on E&I which is pretty much the original. One was better at the show I attended since bono actually sang it all and little things was excellent. I guess it was very close between E&I and JT but perhaps my preference for Achtung baby over TJT with stay as an additional plus was just enough to make me lean to E&I.
  4. Joshua Tree Tour, tops the vote ! yes
  5. Three very good tours. The JT was special but hard to compare with 'regular' tours because it had a Joshua Tree album in it. That big gun is hard to face down. We need U2 Tour Top Trumps.

I also prefer Achtung Baby (slightly) over Joshua Tree, but I still prefer a show with a lot of JT and a bit of AB over 5 AB songs and lights of home and co...

  8. always easy to crack down elevation and vertigo, but they never fail to get the crowd going. Worked perfectly on (especially) JT30

  10. I voted for "no clear preference" and it's interesting to see that they are all currently equal (roughly)

If you don’t rate the songs that highly though it doesn’t really matter what the rest of the crowd are doing. If I went to a spice girls concert I’m sure the crowd would go wild for wannabe but that doesn’t mean I’ll enjoy it. If it’s a great song but the crowd aren’t into it then I’ll take it and not care what everyone else is doing .

true, if you really don't like the songs than that's fair enough, but most of us secretly do love them (played live). Not my first choices for a setlist, but they worked perfectly after Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Year's Day, Bad, Pride and the entire Joshua Tree!!! Did you just read that? Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Year's Day, Bad, Pride and the entire Joshua Tree... but still you are free to vote for E&I Like I said before, the best coaches and football players also chose Modric over Messi and Ronaldo.. completely insane, but I can understand the sentiment
