There is no weird bias, some people just prefer E&I and there points are arguments are equally as valid as yours.
Read what you’ve said above, every single point is only an opinion and I believe by coming up with the whole modric thing it just comes across as putting other people’s opinion down as if ‘well you like this but these are actually better you just don’t see it’. Your way of deciding what makes a show or a song good will be different from mine and the next person that’s how it is.
I haven't seen convincing arguments... only things like, they played wild horses so it was the best tour ever..

Of course you haven’t because you’re not in agreement with them. I’m sure people who prefer E&I aren’t convinced by your arguments either that’s what happens when you have differing views.
  3. I voted E+I too. I went to Milan 1 and Milan 4 and I can tell you that the audience participation and "feel" was amazing on the new songs and during the whole concert. There was no real let-down, while in Joshua Tree I felt the start of encore was a bit flat. I+E had a great storytelling in the first part but then was more like a miscellaneous of songs.
I mean, I would prefer the band to come out and just play songs, but I know they won't. So if you start a story, try also to finish it (and I feel during E+I they finished that story).

I understand the love for Wild Horses and co, but JT had Exit which was maybe even more impressing.. it also had One Tree Hill, Mothers of The Disappeared, Bad, Streets, Red Hill and many more... so yeah, I don't understand why people prefer E&I over JT30 because it had better songs... opening with Blackout and Lights Of Home and ending the main set with City Of Blinding Lights.... I''m ok with different opinions, but there seems to be a trend to just enlarge small things and forget about everything else.. just like Dublin 2017 was the worst show ever because it had the America snippet instead of the Bowie snippets in Bad. I just don't like that kind of reasoning. But I'm ok with everyone who genuinely prefers E&I over JT or E&I.

I think I understand your point clearer now, I guess I agree in a way that one song alone changing someone’s view of a show so drastically does seem a bit extreme but I could understand 1 song being enough to change someone’s view from very good to great, it is bound to have some impact at least. What I will say is I was looking through the songs played on both TJT17 tour and E&I shows I was at and from my personal point of view there was absolutely nothing to split them quality wise except E&I featured my favourite song so playing Stay actually was the deciding factor in why I preferred E&I to TJT17 because I couldn’t split them on the other factors that I consider important. It’s maybe the same with others that they’ve loved attending all the shows but seeing there favourite song appear just adds enough to make it stand out.
  6. The very fact E.I. Was minus Patti Smith gives it a serious edge over I.E. in that respect.
  7. Joshua Tree 2017 Tour was the BEST !!!!!!!!!!
  8. The JT30 tour got a lot of stick from fans but I actually loved it and regret only seeing the one show (which I had to fly 17 hours to see!). The setlist for the main set was hard to beat (4 greatest hits then one of their best albums in full) although inevitably the energy dropped for side 2 (until Exit blew everyone's heads off).
My biggest complaint was the snoozefest of Miss Sarajevo to open the encore and that my show didn'tget Little Things. The Beautiful Day/Elevation/Vertigo segment seemed perfunctory but there's no denying the crowd involvement and energy.
