1. I was reading an old Rolling Stone article last night tied to the release of SOI and it mentioned that U2 and Apple were working on "an audiovisual interactive format for music that can’t be pirated and will bring back album artwork in the most powerful way, where you can play with the lyrics and get behind the songs when you’re sitting on the subway with your iPad or on these big flat screens. You can see photography like you’ve never seen it before"

Bono, perhaps with his usual exuberance and optimism, said it was 18 months away and there was a thought that SOE could be released using it. Fast forward nearly 5 years and we've seen nothing. Anyone know what happened?

  2. So Bono did a Bono? Surprising
  3. I’ve been wondering this too. They way they talked made it sound like it was going to be associated with the release of Songs of Experience.

My guess it that ideas were shelved after the negative (and undeserved) backlash from the SOI rollout?

    Maybe the next album?
  5. Yes that was the general consensus after SOE came out and the new format was nowhere to be seen.
