1. I know. I still think there should be a minimum amount of time between a show being posted and votes. Bullet from dream force is still apparently its second greatest performance after all!

Well, after all it's an exceptional performance. One-off shows like the DreamForce gig or remarkable tour gigs (aka tour/leg openings/closers, shows with a song debut, gigs with a soundboard or Ex Aud recording, etc) are bound to be voted more than others no matter how much time has passed since the show.

So it all comes down to knowing how to use the tool and analyze the data collected. If for any certain song you see three famous shows (for example, 1989-12-31 Dublin, 1993-11-27 Sydney and 2001-09-01 Slane) with 6 votes and then you see an "obscure" show (eg. 1987-11-12 Vancouver) with 2 or 3 votes, that song from that show is probably gonna be a much better performance than the other ones - just less famous.
  3. I think the best song performance votes are just a bit of fun really. Songs that get performed as a one off rarity on a tour seem to get votes even when some of them are probably the worst performances, Love is Blindness from 2006 and NLOTH from Helsinki got some votes even though they messed it up. There’s no harm in it though it just highlights the excitement of u2 surprising is occasionally.
  4. Dreamforce is one of the worst performances of Bullet I've heard as far as I'm concerned.

Exactly. I like to use it as a tool to find shows that have great performances and when a show like dreamforce has a performance like that so heavily voted on when the show is streaming off of a phone or something that night, the other better performances suffer on the list and get pushed out of the top however many each song page shows.

And I don't think that this performance of bullet for example would feature in the top performances if there was no voting for two weeks, the hype would have settled. I can't imagine anyone actually listens to that show with any regularity

LOL, maybe Dreamforce is indeed the exception that proves the rule because it was such a... mediocre gig with no sense whatsoever, and with the band clearly out of shape after not touring for a year.

And still that Bullet performance is remarkable with the conversation with/against Trump! Surely not among the all-time 10 best renditions of the song, but one to listen to if you want something different to the same-all-throughout-the-tour versions.
  7. Dreamforce Bullet doesn't come anywhere near of ZooTV era Bullet.
