1. and I wish the final part was longer with extended solo and some calm outro same as intro. This song could have around 7-8 minutes (but I know Bono doesn't like progressive rock, but does Edge? ) Great song anyway
  2. One of the best songs of SOE, but cut way too early, a bit unfinished. A shame that BOYH is just a bomus song and not played live. Could have been a classic live anthem.
  3. I’d put this right up there with the songs on Achtung Baby
  4. Still my absolute favourite! The tone of “we don’t belong to this world” gives me goosebumps

    Yep.

I will say that the mix in the chorus is a bit weird, and the drums sound like they might even be programmed drums (and not Larry) - it makes me wonder if this was one they did while on the road with a mobile studio and it was mainly Bono and Edge taking a crack at it, which is why it was kept off the album - wasn't fully realized in time.

But yeah. This song also adds to my opinion that Andy Barlow should produce the next U2 album himself. All of the stuff he touched on SoE was the best stuff on the album, including this song.

    I’d like to hear a Barlow-only U2 record.

BOYH is a beautiful glimpse at what sounds and ideas exist in the heads of the band and their producers. I maintain this feels like a Sacred Love or Brand New Day Sting song in the best way.
  7. This could have easily taken the spot of You'reThe Best Thing About Me on the EI tour.
  8. Not a chance YTBT was the biggest & most well known song on the album regardless of the hardcore opinions of it same with Song for someone it's the most popular song on Spotify from SOI but it gets a lot of stick on fan forums. BOYH is however a great song it's old school U2 but it does lack something it could have been a late addition that didn't get enough attention or maybe it just didn't sit well enough with the rest of the album proper.
  9. I am appreciating it very much! Looking forward to another song.
  10. Still love this song. I think it's absolutely beautiful.
  11. Drew! I feel as though it's been a while since I've seen you around here!

We've both been registered on this site for 12 freakin' years - can you believe that?

I've been away for a fair while taken up with many things, so that's why I've been pretty scarce. 12 years, has it been that long?
