  1. Yeah, those side-on seats are going to be even further away because of the shape the field at the SCG.

Looks like the SCG is 155m x 136m, compared to 160m x 118m for ANZ stadium. So as expected, the SCG is significantly wider, but actually a little shorter. I'll be doing GA, & I've been trying to convince my sister to go GA instead of doing seats at the SCG.

For reference Suncorp stadium is 136m x 82m, significantly shorter & narrower. I didn't want Allianz to get knocked down, but if U2 ever make it back to Sydney it'd be good if they could play at that stadium (or my local pub).
  2. For Swans games I have seats in the Trumper Stand and can vouch that it's a long way to the goal posts at the other end. Even with the main stage out from the boundary and a b-stage you'll still be far back. Should be an awesome view though when that screen turns red.
  3. Can anyone tell me why the band is NOT playing ANZ Stadium at the Sydney Olympic Park this time around?

I saw 360 at that venue 9 years ago and the atmosphere was awesome.

The band also played that same stadium on Vertigo in 2006.

Will the Olympic Park be unavailable or something?

I also would like to know what the problem was with ANZ, i refuse to see them at that shitty ground ( great for cricket ... zero else)... im looking at Marvil Stadium also as it is at least a continuous wrap around same style stand... unlike the SGCs myriad of different aged stands, ironically the brand new stand easily the BEST ( as far as amenities etc ) at the SGC is directly behind the stage! Bright spark and awesome planning whoever thought that one out!!
  5. There is no problem with ANZ. It's available because the proposed renovations have been delayed - Metallica play there 4 weeks earlier and Queen are there in February 2020.

What really astounds me is that Live Nation got approval to use the SCG. I can't recall any concert there in the last 10 years and there's always opposition to concerts by neighbouring residents. I can only suspect that some kind of financial incentive was given by the Trust to use the ground and that it has government backing.

The other alternative is that Live Nation do not have the confidence they could fill ANZ even once, hence the smaller venue. But there's rumoured to be 2 shows at the SCG so that doesn't add up either.

I guess the why doesn't matter; it's happening now and that's it.
  6. Nightmare!
  7. Ticketek works better with the smartphone app.
  8. Just purchased my tickets for melbourne ,its a JOKE at the SCG , pluss dont expect a loud or longer than normal concert ,the noise restrictions will mean a lower than normal decibel reading and although im not young anymore i want a LOUD concert , also it cant finish one sec late than normal!!!!
  9. Was able to get some Category 3 tickets in Bay 314. Up pretty high and not too far off centre. Should be a good view and am taking my kids to their first ever concert.
  10. Should be a pretty direct on view of the screen.

That's because the loading dock is on the north end of the SCG. The stage was set up in the same place for Wave Aid & Sound Relief. Can't just plonk the stage at the other end of the field.

They didn't fill ANZ in 2010, had a total of just over 100,000 for the two shows. In 2006 the total was over 200,000!

There's a chance that demand will be even lower this time around, & they could feel that ANZ will be too big. The SCG could be considered to be the right size.

I'm looking forward to the SCG, but I'll be in the field. Would hate to be in the seats!

Looks like the new light rail line to the SCG is now due to open in December, just after the shows
