Ahh... and Koreans DO GA and they can freak out... at least when its PSY:

Don't know what the rules are with Hong Kong being a special adminstrative region of China, but maybe U2 can't, or don't want to perform in Hong Kong. They certainly couldn't (& probably wouldn't want to) perform in mainland China. Looking like a good decision to skip Hong Kong at the moment.

As for performing elsewhere in Asia, other than Japan, Singapore & Hong Kong, South Korea has a much higher standard of living that the rest of Asia. Their average annual income is 7 times that of the Philippines! Money talks.

Haha, they certainly love some Gangnam Style
  2. At this point we are still being told that Melbourne should get a second show, and that the promoters are working out a logistical issue for the first show there, which should be sorted this week. The tickets that were initially placed on sale for the first show in Melbourne have sold well, and there is only a very small amount still available at any price range. Expect to see a second show announced soon if it going to be announced. It is likely that the sales for the second shows in Sydney will be taken into consideration when making the final decision on a second show for Melbourne as well.

  3. Any update on a second show for Melbourne?
  4. More tickets released for Melbourne.
    GA and seats
  5. Perhaps this is related to the “logistical issue”?

Large bank of seats in a bay on level 3 that may have initially been thought to have restricted viewing now available.

Hopefully these seats sell quickly and a 2nd concert can be a reality!
  6. For those who were wondering about the logistics issues at the show in Melbourne that we mentioned, those have been resolved, and this has resulted in a large release of tickets for the first Melbourne show. This includes GA tickets which are available now. If you were looking for tickets for the first show, and were unable to get them until this point, there are GA tickets available now. There are multiple configurations available for Marvel Stadium, and until now it was not decided whether this area would be made available as seats, or as General Admission. They have been released as standing tickets. With this drop of tickets for Melbourne, tickets are available for all cities in Australia and New Zealand, although in some cases this is limited to second shows in some of the cities. General admission standing tickets are available for Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney 2, Auckland 2. The only city where general admission tickets are not currently available in New Zealand and Australia is in Brisbane, but seats are available in most categories.

"Second shows were planned for Melbourne and for Seoul if ticket sales were good. The venues have been on hold in both locations for a second show, which would follow the night after the first. At this point we have confirmed that the venues are still on hold in both cases as of yesterday, but we are told that the longer these go without announcement, the less likely the shows will happen. If we get any updates we will pass those along. At least one fan has started a petition to get a second show added for Melbourne if you are interested in adding your name to the petition."

  7. Is there any reason to believe that the tickets that have just been released for Melbourne won’t sell out? They did after all sell out the ones that were made available. Whilst Seoul and Melbourne are similar in that they’re both dependant on ticket sales for a 2nd show they are a bit different in that Seoul has had time to get rid of the ones that are available Melbourne haven’t really as they’ve only just been released. They need to get that ‘sold out’ sign of the link in u2.com though or people won’t think to look.
  8. Update on Melbourne 2 from u2songs: “we are told a second show for Melbourne will likely not happen”.
  9. bought a GA for Melb 1, might clash with a Uni exam but it's a risk worth taking
  10. Just did the same. Was planning to do only Melbourne 2 but yeah if there is no..
