  1. Hope this doesn't discourage them from touring here in the future. More sensible pricing and arena shows would have been more successful IMHO.

But not a big money spinner for Guy O$eary & Live Nation. Arenas would have been awesome, but not as profitable. That's what it's all about for some of these people.

I'm sure everything will be close to a sell out by showtime. They'll just squeeze every single dollar out of the fans, before reducing prices to more sensible levels.

Yeah, I hope they make it back at least one more time after this tour. I'm sure if something is labelled as a farewell tour it'll sell well, though that mightn't be their style. I think Elton John's tickets are at eye watering levels (I had a $1,500 seat in my cart, just practicing for U2), but I think they're selling. Smaller venues maybe, & all over the place.

EDIT: wow, he's got 21 dates in Oz, up & down the the eastern seaboard, plus Bathurst. Looks like he's here for the whole of summer!

Prices seem reasonable. Seats from $140 to $340, GA (behind the seats) for $120. VIP from $375 to scary levels, $1,499.
  3. So do we think then that a show like Auckland 2 will get to 80%-100% full by showtime?
  4. Yes. That’s the LN strategy now for shows. Don’t go for instant sellouts but squeeze every dollar out until showday.

Looking at the size of the gap they often have between the separate GA zones, I think the sightlines would have worked.

I think seats in GA at any time is awkward

We had to deal with that at Popmart Sydney. We just left our seats, & stood at the catwalk rail
Seats in GA should be considered the eight deadly sin
  6. I had GA seats for Paul McCartney Saturday night $200 USD plus service charge most people stood on the field.
  7. Haha

The 11th commandment. Thou shalt not sit during a rock concert. Particularly down on the field
  8. Did you not see Noel Gallagher????
