1. All 3 were good bit I+E for me
  2. For me by far I&E. New concept, some setlist rotation, epic shows. JT2017 interesting at the beginning, after a while boring, mainly the part after JT. E&I, like SOE this tour does not hit me. They ruin the SOI songs, playing on the automatic pilot. The AB songs have to save the tour. But no surprises at all. Dirty day was quite a bad performance.
  3. I have to say that playing the majority of the JT songs in BROAD DAYLIGHT ruined the atmosphere of those songs for me.

Yeh, I enjoyed the concerts, but there's something about the dark and the stadium being only lit by the odd mobile phone screen (ahem, cough etc) that adds to the playing of those songs .

I always prefer to be wrapped in the darkness. It focuses your attention more on what's going on on stage, the music being played and adds to the experience.

In the daylight, seeing the blue sky, the inside of the stadium, any empty seats, the road crew, the rigs, seagulls and pigeons flying by - all that takes away from that experience.

Arenas don't have that problem. You're inside and it's dark - no distractions.

Yes, on the Elevation tour they began with the lights on and that was great fun, but then darkness the way it should be.

So I think that people's perceptions of the JT30 tour were affected by this.

Give me the Joshua Tree album and give it to me IN THE DARKNESS!

Well, they can't really do much about it in a lot of Europe if you're playing stadiums.
  5. I had to vote "no clear favorite."

I loved the I&E shows I saw in 2015. I think the Experience Tour was probably a bit better, but I wasn't fortunate enough to see any of the great Achtung stuff in the first act. It's a toss up.

    Definitely not JT.

  6. That is true and is also true of stadium tours in summertime too, but they could've waited until it was dark to play the album yes?

I just think it would've worked better like that and would have given people a greater experience of that masterpiece

I mean, we all like to go the cinema and sit in the dark.

I don't think too many shows were affected by this.. not in the South of Europe, not in Berlin where it was raining, not in Amsterdam which was indoor with the roof mostly blinded.. maybe Dublin and Brussels only?

I think Paris was affected by it judging by some pictures and Twickenham definitely was, I was there night 1 and it was light for the majority of JT. That’s something I’m looking forward to in Singapore seeing the show in the dark.

I forgot about Twickenham indeed.. and Paris, yes in some video's it's looks it's still pretty light for the first few songs.. but at least the screen is very clear all the way.. that might have been a bigger problem on previous outdoor tours in Europe in the summer.. didn't they even use new screens on Zooropa in 1993 because of the daylight issue??
