  1. Sorry for the double post.

The other 70 or 80% people who are mainly below the poverty line have never heard of U2 and they were never the intended ones in the planning of this concert. Trust me.

Thank you for that insight Tristan, it’s the sort of information I was interested in from someone local or nearby India and is pretty much what I suspected without actually knowing.
  3. It’s funny how people more or less just accept that The Rolling Stones charge a typical mortgage payment for a ticket, and nobody bats an eye. Of course not... they’re THE Rolling Stones. No other band could charge those prices, play like a crappy bar band and get away with it.

These prices are not because Bono/U2 feel they need more money. This is unfortunately what it costs to get U2 and their crew to bring everything to India for 1 show. I doubt the band themselves make any money from this show, honestly. Yes, U2 charge some ridiculous prices. They are still charging slightly less than people like McCartney and Elton John, and a lot less than the Stones. They’ve always fought to have the floor GA be below $100 for the real fans, even though they could charge way more for that. Even though they are a business and all that, I still think at the end of the day they actually do care somewhat.

  5. Interview with CEO and founder of BookMyShow, aka the ticket site for this show.

Sometimes it's best to bow out of a discussion! I'm not a fan of Twitter for that reason....I'd get in to too much trouble!

I'm just pissed that a band that are advocates against poverty, equality and fair trade aren't doing anything from their side to prevent this from happening. They could have absorbed some of the production costs easily to make tickets more affordable to Philippins, Indians and the like. They did it in Sarajevo 97. They just don't give a fuck anymore.
Sarjevo 97 was before the Live Nation contract Maybe they do give a !@#$, but are legally unable to react to it.....would this have happened when Paul was still with them?

Thanks for the insight for those of us who are half a world away and are only guessing / throwing darts at a board. We need someone to blame...gotta find some rocks....
  9. I found that quite interesting. Not any big news about anything or finer details but he comes across well. I think this gig is going to be a massive deal, wouldn’t be surprised to see it sell out very quickly.
  10. Haha its a quote I just heard Bono say as well actually! He was asked by this Indian reported if he's on social media.

Sarajevo was a completely different matter, and prices were also relatively high back then.
  12. I hope they play this:
