1. At the End of the World
    Early Days
    From the Ground Up
    Stories Behind Ever Song
    Three Chords and the Truth
    Unforgettable Fire
    U2 By U2
    One Step closer
  2. I especially like Unforgettable Fire by Eamon Dunphy.

  3. Just started reading this. I like the way it's written, different than other accounts of what the songs mean. He really does tell a story for every song.
  4. Too many - there was a period in my life where I'd get nothing else as gifts. I have a few I've never even opened up.

End of the World is still undeniable the best one of them all.

A lot of people say that one is the best. It's next on my reading list. Looking forward to it.

Written by an Irish author who shared with the world his fantastic and superior writing talents.

U2 Songs + Experience is also great by Niall Stokes. Its the latest of the Into the heart series.
  7. My beef with so many U2 books is that they contain too much information that any hardcore U2 fan would already know - or information that's so new and interesting you have to doubt it lol.

End of the World is so fucking good because it's written like a story with SO much insight into the band during their best era, and you really feel like you're there on tour with them for ZooTV - it's crazy how entertaining, funny, insightful - everything - it is. It's even better than U2byU2 because it's basically written from a fan's perspective, and includes stuff that the band wouldn't have included themselves.

  8. I used to U2 the early days: another time another place
  9. My ex wife tossed it when she kicked me out
  10. On topic:
    U2 a conspieacy of hope (1993) unread
U2 the ultimate encyclopedia (2004) unread
U2 into the heart (1996) Nice read
  11. Uncanny that this thread should resurface as the other night I was rummaging through a storage box in my garage which has U2: Stories For Boys by Dave Thomas published in 1985 and Unforgettable Fire by Eamon Dunphy. I'd lost track of having those early publications. The box also contains some vintage magazines dating back to 1987 too.
