I truly believe that a U2 album where they totally did what they wanted to do will be much better received amongst all fans than try to please a half of the U2 fan community.
Maybe they have already been releasing the kind of music they have wanted to rather than focusing on what fans want? In fact I’d bet on it that it’s exactly what they’ve been doing all along.

In addition, I think U2 need more songs like "If you wear that velvet dress"
Kind of contradictory statements don't you think? Velvet Dress is probably their most intimate and haunting song ever, and you're calling for an all-out rocker album. Something doesn't match there mate.

I think the problem is not trying to please the U2 fan community but the general audience, the part of the music-listening population that's not a U2 fan. They've been trying to appeal to them since Beautiful Day and that's the big mistake. "Relevance", ughh
  4. I dunno, I'm kinda over their whole "Songs of" era. Give us something new. Or SOA as a subscribers gift and Rock N Roll as a full album/tour.
  5. They could release both albums like a year apart and then tour with select songs from each album.
  6. I chose SOA, but if they actually do a hard - hitting, fck off rock n roll album that might be pretty awesome. They never made such an album with such a purpose imo.
  7. SOA by far ........ who the hell wants or more so does the world want / need a bland ROCK ALBUM.? Further we all know that a true "Edge is from Mars or on fire" type collection of songs wont happen , i think The Edge has fallen out of love with the guitar in its purest form these past few years , he seems to prefer his Casio Keyboard more! It ain't going to happen!
  8. If a rock album means going back to a more basic sound of 4 men and their instruments, rather than 96 layers of sound then I'm all for it. We need a 21st century punk-like rebellion against the over-complication of music. I want something they can play on stage without backing tracks and can improvise with at will; not something that rigidly sounds like the album.

Great idea. And i would prefer no screen so they can vary setlists and do some audience requests. Never to late to change behaviour :-)

That's not a contradiction my friend.
Because in a rock album like HTDAAB you can find songs like "Sometimes you can't make it..." "A man a a woman" "One step closer"
    Yes, it match, mate.

I chose the wrong words, but we’re meaning the same thing.
