  1. Thanks for that Welsh_Edge

Bono looks as cool as f*ck in that interview even though it's a bit of an odd interview to say the least

I remember that Bono - the Bono before the In A Little While and Song For Someone Bono.

    Great times and great music.
  2. I just finished listening to the IEM from Tempe 1997...It's an uhm.... interesting show...

Did Bono do a lot of drugs back then? There seems to be a lot of tension on stage and most songs are played very badly, no comparison to those fantastic shows later that year. You can feel/hear Bono's frustration, sometimes he sings angrily, sometimes as if he doesn't care at all. Strange.

He’s never come out and said he’s done drugs only that they have “Tasted the pie
  4. Howie B was around a lot then and wasn't he arrested for possession and then thrown off the tour because of it,?there were definitely some strange interviews with Bono during that era where he seemed a bit out there
  5. Wasn't it something more like "we've had slices of the pizza"?

I'd be surprised if at least the B-man (skipping over Adam ) didn't do Coke - it's the 'preferred' drug of the celebrity culture.

Drugs were used (don't think they were abused though) in the 90s no doubt. Nevertheless, I would be big money that Bono's palpable frustration was mainly due to the poor album&ticket reception&sales, due to the band's poor performance and due to his vocals problems. As a singer myself I know how frustrating it can become not being able to reach anymore the tones you used to reach easily. And if your band is making blatant and abundant mistakes at the same time... Your whole performance can become a bad rollercoaster.
