1. Yup.

LOL. You should... you can buy a second membership at u2.com, get another chance at tickets, another CD, AND make $15 on the deal!

  2. I would probably pay $50.00 for this if I wasn't a member.
  3. But if you weren't a member, why pay someone on ebay $50, when you could just get yourself a membership and take the extra perks that membership comes with...
  4. By the way when that membership doesn't even include digital downloads for the past year's gifts... It's really unjustifiable unfortunately. Especially if you're not interested in pre-sales (this year's tour is way too far for me). That's a 50$ live album !

I was really considering subscribing because of this year's gift, I really wanted it, but it's kind of ridiculous of them not to include past gifts

if this ends up being anything like the 'another time, another place" vinyl from 2 years back, once all of them have been distributed, you'll be able to find on ebay for a lot less...

i bought extra copies of vinyl for gifts for under $10...

It’s $40 to renew as opposed to subscribing for the first time or after a break. Not saying that makes a massive difference but a bit of difference. It’s true that for the subscription to be worthwhile you really need to be using your presale code as well as getting the gift, you also need to be attending a show that’s popular enough to need the code really although nobody knows this until the general sales start. I’ve found it beneficial for shows I’ve attended though to get GA. The other issue is if you don’t renew then want to get a code when the tour comes around you won’t be in the first presale group and you’ll be paying the $50 again as opposed to the $40. I’ll not let it expire in the future so just hope they keep giving us good gifts like this years.

not sure anyone will ever figure out how the ticketing/pre-sale thing works. for both TJT2017 and E/I, I'd let my subscription lapse, re-subscribe, be in 2nd day pre-sale and have had a (seemingly, from what I've read) easier time getting my GA's than some 1st day pre-sales.

It's all a matter of choice, really. At this point, I'm rationalizing to myself that after this Australian leg, it'll be a few years before they go on the road again, so, if I wait until after the holidays and the economy to hopefully pick up a bit, if I re-up next summer, by the time they go on tour again, I'll still have been subscribed long enough to get back up into 1st tier. That's just one man's philosophy, though. Only time will tell if it plays out!
  8. don't you wish you could message the bidders and say "hey dummy! if you're gonna pay that much, why don't you just pay for a membership!" lol
  9. yeah, that is a wish
