  1. Spent my morning commute catching up on this thread and it was quite entertaining.
  2. Didn't seem to hit the heights of Auckland 2 .
    Oh well they aren't robots

I'm flying down to Melbourne on Friday, not sure what time I'll get to Marvel but will do my best to get a decent spot on field.
Glad to hear you've got another show to attend, after such a horrible experience. Hope you're wife is feeling much better. As others have said, pretty poor you weren't offered seats. Although it looked like a good sized crowd, there were certainly a few seats available. All the best to you & your wife.
  4. First show for me, no time to write my thoughts right now. But one thing just struck me. Mobile phones. Not their absence, but the scourge of phones held in the air didn't look quite so bad, from my position at the top of the tree looking over the main stage crowd.

Yeah, Bad & Exit were the highlights for me to. We certainly went nuts to Beds are Burning, & been waiting 30 years to see Exit live
  6. They soundchecked NYD, RHMT & Angel of Harlem, just as the majority of the waiting GA crowd were in the depths of the stadium, preparing to go down the stairs to the field. We all had a HUGE sing-along, which was awesome! Same for Angel of Harlem.
  7. Was a good show, not a great show. Walked in when doors opened and got 3 rows back from rail at Adams side. Glad I chose that spot because I saw the Joshua tree performed up close and it was amazing however couldn't see anything at the B stage. My next shows I'm gonna be way further back to take in the screen. Bono tried so hard to get the sing a long going during Love is Bigger but no one was having it. He tried so many times and eventually gave up. After the song had finished me and a couple others continued the "oh oh oh ohs" and he just looked in our direction and laughed.

Haha, a few of us on the tree stage tried to keep the "oh oh oh ohs" going, with no success. Just like last year, that late in the set my voice was totally blown. So no idea what was actually coming out of my mouth But yeah, last year in Belfast I was surprised how good Love is Bigger was live, & how responsive the crowd was too it, at least down on the floor.

Didn't do 2017, so last night was my first JT show. So it was the tree stage for me, to take it all in. But it just looks like the party was happening down the front at the main stage. Maybe I'm wrong, it's really hard to remember what happened at a show, with all the adrenaline & excitement. But I thought the band visited the tree stage a bit more in 2017. I'd say we got about 9 songs with at least a band member close for parts of a song, out of a 24 song setlist. The opening 4, AOH, the end of Exit, Bono on his knees on the catwalk during MOTD the last minute of Elevation/first minute of Vertigo with Bono. Thought it was a bit more in 2017, with BD & One, but maybe not.

Did love being close for Bad, the Beds are Burning snippet was great

So main stage party for me next show!
