1. Which video did you use for Little Things?

I thought Wowy was epic in a funny way... Tried Uteotw after that, and the service struggled with that one..
  2. I used the official studio version

I came across this free online portal that separates the vocal track, leaving you with just a vocal version and an instrumental backing track. While it isn't perfect (some distortion in places), it's the best website of its kind that I've found: https://moises.ai/ . It's 100% free but requires an account (I've only ever gotten emails from them with a link to my downloads).

Enjoy! (I can't stop listening to the "Little Things" instrumental version...so epic!)
I have yet to test it (it's currently "processing" the several tracks I've uploaded - I thought it would do it a bit faster but it's ok I guess) but for the moment: thanks a lot for finding & sharing this The possibilities are endless, specially if the the separation quality is as good for older tracks as it is for newer songs. We'll see

Oh dear Lord, it's finished processing the first track I've tested it with...

    Bohemian Rhapsody instrumental =
  5. STREETS
  6. Guess I have to give this a go later then.
  7. Hahaha.. That's why it took so long for you, there's quite a bit of vocal in that song that needed to be stripped out
  8. I've separated the St Francis Hotel Remix of New Year's Day and a few other songs I had lying around my computer desktop and, well, this is freaking amazing. It works surprisingly well (more for making instrumentals rather than acapellas, which are a bit less brilliantly separated - but still much better than I expected).

Also depends on the song a bit I think. With Wowy they were quite well seperated, with Uteotw not very. Guess that's because with the latter the vocals are more in the mix instead of on top of it?

Absolutely, a lot depends on the mixing and also on the vocal range. I've tried separating Velvet Dress and, oh man, what a mess Bono's range is so low and with a lot of humming, etc. the software was virtually unable to distinguish what was vocals and what was music (let alone backing vocals!), it's messed all around But overall I'm really, REALLY surprised with how well this works. I'm going to be using their service a lot for learning guitar parts and practicing my own vocals. They might just ban my IP because of excessive bandwith usage lol

Separating vocals and instrumentation certainly helps practicing those..
