    Urgh.

Also When Love Comes To Town (not that I care much about the song but anyway) iirc. Nah, I don't think they'd do that. Maybe interrupt a rehearsal of a song with an interview, then segue in to the proper performance, I can see that.
I think WLCTT is done really well on thee DVD, it's just an interesting way if doing it, and Heartland is a sort of fade-out anyway and I think that Edge screaming 'wheeeeeee' sliding down a hill just adds to the song tbh

Songs like OTH, MOTD and RHMT on dvd for the first time will be spoiled if you’ve got someone suddenly interrupting the song. Also in terms of an audio rip it makes it almost worthless as well. Fingers crossed TJT can just run in full, nobody needs a commentary of the album.

This is wishful thinking I think.... There's not gonna be an extensive interview section Galway through Miss Sarajevo or Elevation on a film about the Joshua Tree... I think they'll just do it between songs tho rather than interrupt them

It just sounds like it’s not going to be your typical u2 dvd release. All these non concert bits are going to put me off anyway and it wouldn’t surprise me if they start interrupting songs, but hopefully not. At least if they keep full song performances in it would make for a good audio rip and I’ll probably hardly watch the dvd then, certainly not in full anyway it will be constantly skipping to the actual song performances which just ruins it.
  5. Question: "Is the film going to be a documentary, or concert film, or mix?"

Anton Corbijn: "It's a concert film with bits at the front and bits at the back that are different."

I’d forgot about Anton saying that, it sounds more promising if that’s the case. ‘bits at the front and bits at the back’ doesn’t sound like it’s going to be an interrupting/distracting type of watch but we’ll see.

Haha I was exactly thinking about Edge sliding down when I said it ruined the song Different opinions I guess. I agree WLCTT is well done swithing between Bono & BB talking, then the performance, etc...

Anyways, it indeed seems this is not going to be a typical concert release - and I for one celebrate that, given the tour is my least favorite.
  8. I'd actually really like it if in the beginning it's more like this

with this kind of footage and some behind the scenes stuff to see how things work before a show and see what the band is doing & maybe have some quick interviews from the band & the crew. Show maybe just a little bit of what things were like back in 1987 and then go into the full concert with no interruption. And at the end of the concert they could have documentary elements again.
  9. Didn't Anton work on another bands concert for a cinema release? What was that like?
  10. Depeche Mode for sure, but haven't seen it yet. If I'm not mistaken it's from the perspective of some 5,6 DM fans and how they experienced the fandom and their relationship with the band. So, it's a totally different approach

Lol could you imagine them making a documentary about U2 VIP fans
