Popmart
Legs (4): Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe, Leg 3: North America, Leg 4: Rest Of The World
Shows: 111
  1. He did produce their biggest album, which was in the 80’s though, so didn’t do too bad
  2. I was only 6 when pop came out so can’t speak from experience but if I was to guess I think a lot of fans from back then will have changed there view on the material and possibly were too quick to judge based on the change of image and sound rather than try and get into the music for what it was. For fans to turn away from the band to the extent they did particularly in the states when you consider that all it took was one big hit and a new more back to basics album later to get them back on board again suggests it was a bit of an overreaction as was some of the negativity towards the album in general.

To be fair the albums and tour were almost polar opposites of one another, but I do hear where you are coming from.
  4. I have a very good memories of the Popmart tour! and I really like the album!
I remember the launch of the album at Kmart and the Discotheque clip !!! a real artistic shock for me !

I'd be surprised if at least the B-man (skipping over Adam ) didn't do Coke - it's the 'preferred' drug of the celebrity culture.

Absolutely no way did Bono ever do any kind of drugs,i think his "slice of the pizza" quote was referring to the drunken late night partying of Zoo TV,didnt Ali let him off the leash or something along those lines during this era,im sure i read this somewhere. That doesnt mean to say women and drugs were a thing.Remember they are big Irish Christians, very tight knit, they are still together same line up,still best mates, still with the girls they met at school, this doesnt happen where drugs are concerned imo.

“Chemicals? Has been!” — also no reference to drugs?

I think Bono is the only religious one.

    The rest are indifferent.
  8. At one point sure, along with Larry, but that nearly led to U2 being non-existent soooo
  9. Put me in the “Bono has dabbled with coke” camp
  10. Yeah I don’t know how he is today but I’ve never believed them to be religious guys really. More interested by god probably in general.
  11. Popmart between the shows....
