1. So I’m having a lot of fun with various audio-editing tools lately and I’m working on several U2-related remixes. The primary tools I use are:

    - Track separation (via AI) to get separate drums/bass/vocals/rest
    - Some DJ software to get detailed pitch and tempos from source-tracks
    - Audio-editing software (cutting/pasting bits, matching tempos and pitch

    This morning I was curious how the U2 studio version of “One” would sound with Johnny Cash on lead vocal instead of Bono. It was a bit of a quicky, but here’s the result..

    Ps. Working on a lot more of these "mixes", but still figuring out what the best place is to post that here..
  2. I like it !
  3. As a big fan of Johnny who loves his cover of One, I have to say you did a wonderful job, it sounds awsome. How about a duet - Bono and Johnny singing together? Maybe their voices would not fit together, but maybe it would sound good too.

    Hm I could try.. I mean they're right next to each other in my editing software The problem is that they both have a very unique sense of timing in singing. Made the editing a bit harder because your ears are used to a specific version.

    So the 2 of them together.. I can try by "unmuting" Bono but a probably better idea is maybe to let them switch verses/choruses..
  5. In the meantime, I did feel sorry for Bono and Cash's guitarist sitting around with nothing to do.

    So here's the "inversed version" of the song , featuring just the spare Cash guitars with Bono's studio vocal:

  6. Brilliant job and both versions. Well done Melon51.

    @happy24,

    I did a real quick edit to try and see if a duet works, curious what you and others think of it.

    So here goes: One Duet (Johnny Cash & Bono):

  8. bravo !
  9. Haha, thanks. I have got more of this stuff (coming up). This "one" is relatively easy, matching studio recordings of the same song. But there's also stuff that involves matching other songs that I've been working on for a week, pff

    Just listened to it in full myself, and to my ears it works brilliantly as duet! It's just as if they're singing at each other..

  11. The duet is brlliant! This will be the reference version I'll listen to from now on.
