U2 - Numb
Album:
Zooropa (1993)

  1. The best remix of the song. Extended lyrics. Why is this not on the uber the luxe box set? And the other remix is on every reissue box Or single?
  2. Haha, that is great yes.. Isn't that in the name of the father (guitar) mixed in?
  3. WOW this thread is old.

I prefer the Gimme Some More Dignity remix above all others.
The only thing I find interesting about the mix above as that you can hear the vocals so much clearer? Interesting find. I couldn't enjoy the remix. But never heard it before this day.
  4. Is the 'In Cold Blood' remix.
  5. Yes it is. Not just guitar, also drum and bass.
  6. @Zwervervriend

The weird thing though is that this track is from spring '93. Work on the Name of the father track was done in fall '93. So they took this track as a starting point for it?

I don't know when they started working on In the name of the father. The music of Numb was already recorded during Achtung Baby. It's on the bonus discs of the Achtung Baby anniversary release and called Down all the days.

Maybe someone else knows the answer.

Yeah I know about Down all the Days. That backing track was raised a semitone and sped up though for Numb (I found when trying to combine the 2).

The In Name of the Father tracks were done in the break after the Zooropa european dates, before they went to Australia.

So if we follow that lineage Name of the father is a descendant of Down all the Days ..
